The Accomplice, co-written by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, is being adapted for television with Taraji P. Henson set to take on the leading role. The bestselling novel, which was written by 50 Cent and Aaron Philip Clark, is in the works at Peacock. The thriller series will follow Nia Adams (played by Henson), a Texas Ranger, who uncovers an explosive conspiracy while she is trying to find a thief called Desmond Bell.

Taraji P. Henson is known for her acclaimed roles as Cookie Lyon in Empire and Katherine Johnson in Hidden Figures. She had also worked on the Peacock show titled Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist as Vivian Thomas. She recently signed two picture deals with Netflix. For her remarkable performances, Henson has also earned Emmy Award and Academy Award nominations.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent is developing Hip Hop Cop at Hulu, which will be based on Ron Stallworth’s The Gangs of Zion. He also executive produced Starz’s Power franchise. He is set to appear on screen in the upcoming Street Fight movie. 50 Cent is also producing the Netflix documentary series on Sean Diddy Combs’. Jackson and Henson will also be taking on the role of executive producers for the series based on The Accomplice.


What we know about The Accomplice starring Taraji P. Henson?

The Accomplice is a thriller novel written by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Aaron Philip Clark. The story revolves around a Texas Ranger known as Nia Adams, who is investigating an infamous thief called Desmond Bell. Bell has targeted one of the richest American families. However, Adams ends up discovering some shocking truth, which leaves her perplexed. Will she continue her job or hide the truth?

As per Deadline, the book is being adapted for television series on Peacock. The series will also be developed by Universal Studio Group division, UCP, Jackson’s G- Unit Films and Television and Henson’s TPH Entertainment.

The Accomplice was published in 2024. There has been no further updates on the writer, the other cast members and the possible release date for the series.

The synopsis for The Accomplice as per USA Today states,

“In The Accomplice, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and award-winning mystery writer Aaron Philip Clark introduce readers to New York-born and Texas-bred Nia Adams, who always dreamt of becoming a Texas Ranger. She knows the dangers of the job, and as the first Black female ranger, she knows the politics, but she’s never encountered a criminal like Desmond Bell. A Vietnam vet turned thief, Desmond steals more than money; he steals the secrets of the rich and powerful and blackmails them for millions.
When Desmond steals from the Duchamps, the wealthiest family in the country, Nia’s investigation into the robbery threatens to expose him and the criminal enterprise he works for. As the bodies pile up, Nia digs deeper for the truth, putting her life and career in danger. It’s a deadly cat-and-mouse game between ranger and thief, but to protect their family’s secrets, the Duchamps won’t hesitate to kill them both.”
