The Emmy-winning show, The Bear, recently released its fourth season, and it is all that fans can talk about. Although the positive response has seen a slight drop compared to previous seasons, the show still has an 89% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show follows the journey of Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, a young and ambitious Italian chef who gives up his booming career as a fine-dining chef and returns to his hometown in Chicago to save his brother's restaurant after his brother's untimely demise.

One of the most notable things about the show is the huge ensemble cast. With the number of close leading characters in the show, their relationships might get very confusing for viewers, especially since most of these characters are portrayed as family or close family friends.

So, here is a complete breakdown of all the leading characters and their relationship with the central family in the show - the Berzatto family.

The relationship between all the leading characters in The Bear explored

The show is centrally based around the Berzatto family, and almost all the leading characters are portrayed as family members.

However, the core Berzatto family only includes four members: the protagonist Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (played by Jeremy Allen White), his siblings Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto (played by Abby Elliott) and Michael "Mikey" Berzatto (played by Jon Bernthal), and their mother, Donna Berzatto (played by Jamie Lee Curtis). Their father has been absent throughout the storyline.

Most of the other characters portrayed through the series, no matter how close they are to the Berzatto family, are not actually related to the family by blood, but are close friends of the various family members. And yes, this includes characters like Bob Odenkirk's Lee Lane and Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Richie Jerimovich.

The only other characters in the show who have some form of blood relationship with the Berzatto family are Michelle and Stevie, played by Sarah Paulson and John Mulaney, respectively. However, they are not part of the immediate family and are cousins to the three siblings who live in New York.

In the later seasons of the show, there is a new addition to the Berzatto clan when Sugar has her baby, Sophie, who makes her first appearance in Season 3.

The Berzatto clan seems to be ever expanding, so it remains to be seen if any new members crop up in the upcoming Season 5. However, as of Season 4, these are the only characters in the show who share a blood relationship with the Berzatto family.
