Star Trek fans are still catching their breath after the Strange New Worlds Season 3 finale, but the creators aren't wasting time! At a recent Star Trek Day event hosted by the LA Times, co-showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers shared some news about what's next.

Goldsman called Strange New Worlds Season 4 "the best work we've done," and Myers echoed that vibe. He explained that they constantly push for storytelling that's "crazy, dynamic, interesting, terrifying, exciting."

Fans can look forward to bold adventures, even by Star Trek standards!

Strange New Worlds finds its "stride" in Season 4

Goldsman admitted Season 3 had its share of headaches. Industry strikes forced changes, and the crew scrambled with last-minute adjustments.

But he insists the challenging moments brought everyone closer. With Season 4 finished filming, he says the team's "working at their stride."

Myers even said they approach every season like it might be the last. That mindset (putting everything into each installment) is why fans call this the boldest Star Trek in years. The gamble's paying off. And of course, there's the legacy!

Goldsman told everyone that we all know Kirk and Spock will end up as legends from the OG Star Trek. But Strange New Worlds is not about the destination. It’s about showing us the messy, interesting road that got them there. The bumps. The surprises. All that happens before one becomes a hero.

Rebecca Romijn hints at Una’s most formidable challenge on Strange New Worlds yet

Rebecca Romijn (Una) matched the producers' secretive tone. When asked about how she deals with her arc in Season 4, she said:

“There’s no way I can do this. There’s NO WAY. And then I did.”

While she kept details under wraps, Rebecca Romijn hinted that Una's journey will take unexpected turns next season.

Speaking about her character's growth since the Illyrian revelation, Romijn said that Una will finally embrace her "fullest potential." This freedom has positioned Una to seize greater responsibilities, perhaps even leadership roles.

So brace for a decisive, self-assured Una stepping into the spotlight.

Kirk and Spock’s friendship

The bromance is real!

At the panel, Paul Wesley (Kirk) and Ethan Peck (Spock) fist-bumped while discussing their characters' personalities. Wesley described their dynamic as "exciting" and said that the show explores rarely-seen sides of Kirk. Depending on each episode, he enjoys playing Kirk's quiet and explosive versions.

Peck and Wesley's chemistry in Strange New Worlds is evident.

Wesley also suggested viewers should expect some emotional moments, especially around Kirk's family. He mentioned Sam Kirk's story in particular and hinted that it would add to the younger version of the captain we know.

Peck shared that this season allows Spock to explore what makes him "unique," finding his footing between human feelings and Vulcan logic more confidently. Both actors stressed that their characters aren't finished products yet.

When will Strange New Worlds Season 4 arrive?

Though Paramount+ hasn't set a release date yet, insiders say Season 4 will likely hit screens around late 2026. Meanwhile, cameras will start rolling on Season 5 shortly, so fans will have a steady stream of new episodes.

With New York Comic Con coming up this October, industry watchers expect fresh announcements --- possibly even our first glimpse of footage.

We can take Goldsman's word: He says season 4 is the strongest Strange New Worlds has ever been. And as this show already stands as the best Star Trek on TV as of now, that’s an exciting promise!
