Viewers and fans had one question after seeing the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 finale on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Will there be a Strange New Worlds Season 4 or not?

Turns out, Paramount had renewed the series for a fourth season in April 2024. Season 4 renewal was confirmed through a report on Variety.

Although a release date for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 has not yet been set, it is confirmed that the episodes will air on Paramount+ in 2026, as stated by RadioTimes.

Will there be a Season 4 of Strange New Worlds? Status of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fourth season explained

As mentioned earlier, the fourth season was officially greenlit a year ago, in April 2024, as Strange New Worlds Season 3 was under production. The press release included a quote from showrunners and executive producers confirming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 that read:

“On behalf of the cast and crew of ‘Strange New Worlds,’ we are thrilled and grateful to continue our voyages together. We can’t wait for you to join us and the crew of the Enterprise on another season of exploration and adventure.”

We learned more about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 in a July 17, 2025, CBR interview with actresses Christina Chong and Rebecca Romijn. When the CBR interviewer asked the actors what they felt about acting out goofy scenes in the then-upcoming third season, Christina Chong responded that they are fun. It was the Una Chin-Riley actress, Rebecca Romijn, who teased the fourth season:

"It's so fun and, as an actor, the most challenging fun that you could possibly hope for. We didn't think that we could outdo Season 2, but Season 4, which we're almost finished filming, wait until you see where we go genre-wise for Season 4. We don't think of them! It's Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers and all our wonderful writers who just keep coming up with these totally outside-the-box opportunities for us to really keep switching it up. It's really fun to jump from horror straight into a musical, straight into pure comedy. The hits keep on coming and it's really fun."

Does Strange New Worlds Season 4 have a release date?

There is no release date for the fourth season, except for a release window of 2026. Furthermore, Paramount+ greenlit it for another season. It was also revealed through the press release that Season 5 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds would also be its final one. Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman confirmed it, saying:

"From the very beginning, Strange New Worlds set out to honor what Star Trek has always stood for — boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible. We're deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who've boldly joined us on this journey — THANK YOU. With three more spectacular seasons ahead for you to see and enjoy, this adventure is far from over."
