The marketing campaign for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' third season is in full swing as it looms over us. Consisting of ten episodes, season 3 is set to stream on Paramount+ between Thursday, July 17, 2025, and September 11, 2025. Now, two actors from Strange New Worlds, Christina Chong (La'an Noonien-Singh) and Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin-Riley), sat down for an interview with CBR to promote the series.

In this interview, the two actresses discussed their characters and what we can expect from them in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3. The CBR reporter asked Romijn how she managed to balance Una's softer side of caring for her crew while maintaining her leadership. To this, Rebecca Romijn responded:

"It's interesting to see what Una could potentially be like as Captain. Who is Una as Captain? I think she prides herself on being really connected with her crew. I think she's very fair, that she wants to be correct and on the right side of history, but also knows when it's important to bend the rules for the greater good, which is what I think is all about — bending rules for the greater good. It's been fun getting little glimpses and hints and playing with that a little bit."

What do Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Rebecca Romijn's comments mean?

Looks like Rebecca Romijn's Una Chin-Riley might need some time to adjust to the leadership position of USS Enterprise. Now, as a leader, she needs to take charge of when to follow the protocol and when to bend it for the benefit of all.

As of now, we don't know much about season 3, but the official synopsis of the latest Star Trek: Strange New Worlds teases a challenging foe:

"When we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike (Anson Mount), they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve."

Romijn also hypes up Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4:

Later, in the same CBR interview, the reporter asked the two actors about the goofy episodes in the upcoming episodes of Strange New Worlds. When the reporter asked the two actors about their experience in filming the comedic sequences, Christina Chong was the first one to answer, saying, "It's so fun!"

Then, it was Rebecca Romijn's turn to answer. After giving a similar answer, the actress also confirmed that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 has almost wrapped up:

"It's so fun and, as an actor, the most challenging fun that you could possibly hope for. We didn't think that we could outdo Season 2, but Season 4, which we're almost finished filming, wait until you see where we go genre-wise for Season 4. We don't think of them! It's Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers and all our wonderful writers who just keep coming up with these totally outside-the-box opportunities for us to really keep switching it up. It's really fun to jump from horror straight into a musical, straight into pure comedy. The hits keep on coming and it's really fun."

We already knew that a fourth season is well underway; therefore, the waiting period between Strange New Worlds Seasons 3 and 4 shouldn't be that long, and Rebecca Romijn's comments have fans hopeful.

The first two episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 are available on Paramount+.
