Since its release in 2019, The Boys has consistently grown in its unhinged craziness and violence. It will finally find a conclusion in the fifth chapter, and fans of the show are more than ready for the extravaganza that the final season is set to be.

Gen V Season 2 is set to act as a bridge between the events of The Boys Seasons 4 and 5, and now that we're only an episode away from understanding how, creator Eric Kripke has revealed a proper timeline between the shows, including the time jump between Gen V Season 2 and Season 5 of The Boys.

Here's everything that Kripke has released about the final season's timeline.

Gen V Season 2 has been extremely exciting so far. The twist in the seventh episode that the season had been building up so far set up the most dangerous villain in The Boys' world. Even though we're only an episode away from the end of this season, the excitement is just starting out, as this season is a bridge to the flagship show's fifth and final season.

According to Eric Kripke:

"There's a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys."

Gen V Season 2 itself started connected to Season 4 of the flagship show, as it found the Godolkin University students adjusting to an America ruled by Homelander and a new dean who wanted a curriculum that would ensure that the most powerful "gods" walked the earth in these supes.

The seventh episode has set up one of the biggest villains for the upcoming final of The Boys, and might be one of the bridges that Kripke had previously referred to.

The creator also revealed that the final season of the show will be set about 6 months after the events of the Gen V Season 2 finale. It makes sense that the time jump is not too massive because the last time we saw Billy Butcher at the end of Season 4, he did not look like he would survive long. At the same time, the time jump is also long enough for Homelander actually to set up his iron fist rule over America.

For the past four seasons, Homelander and Billy Butcher have been facing off against each other, but the crash that is sure to happen when both of them actually clash against each other has been teased at for a very long time. The final season of The Boys, set "about 6 months after Gen V Season 2 ends," will finally give way to the epic clash between Homelander and Butcher.

As of now, there is no specific release date for the final season, but Kripke recently took to his Instagram to confirm that the season was through the production stage, marking the end of filming. So, there is a very high probability that the final season will premiere sometime in mid-2026. However, this is just speculation at this point, and we'll have to wait for an official confirmation.
