Countless The Boys Season 5 theories are floating across the internet. But one thing is clear, when the show does return for the fifth and final season, Homelander is going to be even more of a brute than he already was in the previous four seasons. That's because the walls are closing in on Homelander, and that is something that was hinted at in the fourth season.

Throughout the fourth season, we see Homelander collecting his Gray hair, meaning that the super-powered antagonist is ageing. While he still possesses all of his supposedly limitless abilities, graying suggests that The Boys' central antagonist is ageing, albeit slower than regular humans. Furthermore, as the fifth season is set to arrive next year, his not the only hero with the ability to fly.

By the time The Boys Season 5 arrives, three more characters can also fly:

The thing that made Homelander special in the universe of the Prime Video superhero satire in the first season is his ability to fly without any support, like Superman. However, this specificity has been slowly stripped away from him. This happened since The Boys Season 2, when Stormfront was introduced.

If you remember, Stormfront could also fly like Homelander. While Homelander hates her in the beginning, they become more intimate over time, making them a power couple with an edge over everybody else because of their flight-based power. But that's not the case anymore. The fourth season alone introduced three more heroes with flight powers.

First, there is Homelander's own son Ryan. Then, there is the new Black Noir, who can fly, as we see him do in the seventh episode of the fourth season. Other than Black Noir, viewers were also surprised to find out that Starlight could also fly, as shown in the season 4 finale.

There is also Marie Moreau, who makes Jordan float a bit in the Gen V Season 2 trailer, suggesting that she might fly, too.

Furthermore, Homelander is worried about ageing:

Apart from seeing several supes with the power to fly, Homelander also has to contend with the fact that he is ageing. While Homelander has been trying to kill his human side, John Gillman, it seems that he has failed to do so. Homelander's ageing just suggests that he is a human after all, regardless of his attempts to ignore it, ultimately making him more human.

These new developments could push him over the edge making him more unhinged in the new season of The Boys.

If you haven't seen the series, catch the four seasons of the show on Prime Video before the fifth season begins streaming in 2026.
