The Boys prequel Vought Rising has finally released the first look photos of the 1950s super suits of Soldier Boy and others. The exclusive photos introduced Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, Mason Dye as Bombsight, and Will Hochman as Torpedo.
Helmed by The Boys creator and executive producer Eric Kripke, the official synopsis for the prequel series reads as follows:
''A twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.''
Aya Cash will also return as Stormfront, along with KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith in unannounced roles. Vought Rising marks the third spin-off from The Boys universe, following Gen V and the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

Soldier Boy and Co. suits up for Vought Rising
Vought Rising is set in 1950s New York and will follow the beginnings of Vought Corporation and its journey to become a powerful and publicly traded company. In The Boys' universe, Vought Corporation is a powerful and fictional company that manages superheroes and is responsible for their positive image in the public eye by controlling the world's media, retail, energy, and pharmaceutical sectors.
The first look at photos of the four superheroes features them in all their former glory, introduced as:
“Once upon a time, these four were as American as apple pie.”
The images also confirmed that Vought Rising will begin production this month. Ackles, who will reprise his Soldier Boy character from The Boys, expressed his excitement for the prequel series in an interview with Collider:
“I’m excited to explore what that world looks like and feels like and sounds like, and see how those characters come to life in that setting. I’ve been playing Soldier Boy in modern day, but I’ve been playing him like he’s kind of an old guy. He’s a grandpa from back in the day, so it’ll be interesting to now play him with contemporaries.”
While Posey, Dye, and Hochman will debut in The Boys' universe with Vought Rising, Ackles' Soldier Boy will be featured in a new avatar, as suggested by his new supersuit in the 1950s. In addition to Vought Corporation, the spin-off series will also likely fill in some of his character's origin lore.
While Kripke's superhero universe is expanding with Vought Rising, the flagship series is gearing up for the release of its fifth and final season sometime in 2026. Starring Ackles, Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, and Chace Crawford, The Boys is a satirical superhero series that follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they take down superpowered individuals, known as Supes.
In addition to showrunner Kripke, Ackles, Cash, Paul Grellong, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver are also executive producers of the spin-off series.
