Vought Rising, a prequel spin-off to The Boys, is beginning production sometime this month. On August 6, 2025, several reputable outlets, including Variety, reported that four actors —Brian J. Smith, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Jorden Myrie —have joined the cast of the Prime Video prequel series, set in the 1950s.
It is well known that Vought Rising will heavily feature Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), and Stormfront (Aya Cash) will be heavily featured in the Prime Video series, which is described as a twisted murder mystery. It is in the backdrop of this mysterious murder that Vought rose to become the multi-billion-dollar company that we see in The Boys.
Who are the four actors who have joined Vought Rising?
As mentioned before, Vought Rising will probably be headlined by Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Aya Cash's Stormfront. They probably meet the characters played by these four actors. Considering this series tracks the origin of the Vought Corporation, it is possible that, in addition to being a superhero satire, the prequel series might be a corporate espionage thriller as well.
As mentioned earlier, four new actors have joined the cast of Vought Rising. All of these four actors have appeared in one or numerous acclaimed shows before joining this series:
- Jorden Myrie: Bridgerton, Sherwood, The Strays
- Ricky Staffieri: The Bear
- Nicolò Pasetti: Belcanto, Cuori, Industry
- Brian J. Smith: Class of ’09, Sense8
What is the prequel series about?
As mentioned before, this prequel to The Boys spin-off is a murder mystery with the time period set firmly in the 1950s. As of now, all we know about Vought Rising is that the series will trace the origin of the powerful corporation to the position it is in the first season of The Boys. First announced in the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel, EP Eric Kripke and showrunner Paul Grellong said this:
“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”
What else is there for The Boys Universe in the future?
Other than the prequel series headlined by Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, The Boys Season 5 is scheduled to be released next year. However, before that, we are getting Gen V Season 2, which is scheduled to begin streaming next month on September 17, 2025. The official synopsis of the series reads:
"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
