The Challenge Season 41 Episode 8: Who was eliminated from the MTV show?

MTV released The Challenge Season 41 Episode 8 on September 17, 2025. The latest episode of the reality show featured a daily challenge followed by an elimination challenge.

In episode 8, fans saw Derek Chavez going home after he lost the elimination challenge in the arena. Fans must remember that he finished the last, Season 40, in second place and was one of the stronger contestants.

Derek was sent home after he lost to one of the show's veterans, CT Tamburello. The pole wrestle challenge worked in CT's favor with his experience and physique, which resulted in Derek Chavez's elimination from the MTV show.

MTV describes the latest episode of The Challenge Season 41 as:

"Karma comes for one veteran, as their challenge performance raises suspicious; the announcement of the Lock-In approaching pushes the challengers to determine who would be the best partner for the rest of the game."

The Challenge Season 41 Episode 8: What happened to Derek Chavez in the latest episode?

The latest episode of The Challenge Season 41 saw Sydney Segal and Yeremi Hykel winning the daily challenge.

In the last episode, viewers saw that Yeremi was unhappy after the go-karting task. It was because he and his partner, Tay, were the last pair. Before that, the two were in fifth place during the first lap, but later, because of the puzzle-solving task, they lagged behind.

For the latest episode 8, the daily challenge was another height over the water task, which a few of the contestants had reservations about. For that, participants had to climb onto the structure while it was spinning and put the cubes on top of the structure. After that, they were supposed to swim back to the platform.

Fans must remember that the last height task with water didn't go well for CT, as he froze and was unable to complete it. That resulted in his partner going into the elimination.

The Challenge stars Michaela Bradshaw and CT finished the task in last place. As a result, CT was sent to the elimination task. After Sydney and Yeremi won the daily challenge, they gained an advantage. For that, they chose Derek to go in for the jury votes, which were against Theo Campbell.

However, Theo had a knee injury. Hence, he was sent to get it checked and was not fit to compete in any tasks. Therefore, instead of Theo, Will Gagnon was the Hangnail. But later, Theo returned with his MRI and was qualified to participate in the tasks moving forward.

As for Derek, the daily challenge winners chose him for the elimination challenge. He competed against CT, who was also in the elimination arena. The elimination task was pole wrestling.

For that, participants were tasked with wrestling the pole from their opponent's grasp. CT won the first and second rounds, which resulted in his win. As a result, Derek Chavez was sent home from The Challenge Season 41.

Additionally, for the upcoming episode, the show host, TJ Lavin, announced that the next daily challenge would be an individual challenge. Hence, there won't be any partner selection for the same.
