Emmett hosts a Mother's Day event, bringing together all the mothers of his children. The gathering is filled with underlying tensions, especially between Tiff and her own mother, highlighting the complexities of familial relationships. Alicia, who is grieving the loss of her son Rob, organizes a gathering for mothers who have lost their children to violence. This creates a moment of solidarity, breaking away from the isolation, while Alicia's pain is not passive but turning into a purpose.

As mentioned, when Tiff unveils her doubt to Nuck, his discomfort is evident. He reaches for a cigarette after their conversations to calm down his internal turmoil. Nuck is the mob boss, closer to Tiff after Rob's death, and is feeling guilty for killing someone's partner. But it doesn't end here; his guilt turns into desire when, after the party, he offers Tiff a drop-off.

This leaves Papa in conflict and torn between preserving his father's legacy and fulfilling the church's pressing needs in the latest episode of The Chi.
