The recently released episode of The Golden Bachelor started with Mel travelling to Antigua for his final dates. He felt that it could be the place to fall in love. While getting ready for the date, he noted that it was not about the physical relationship. Talking to the show host, Mel noted that he had to make a razor-thin decision while making his final choice.

Mel Owens opened up about his definition of love and shared it with the show host.

"I don't want to use the word loosely… It's a big deal. You can't use it and then not mean it, right? I'm not messing around with that… I'm not gonna push it. I'm just gonna let it happen naturally," shard Mel.

His first date was with Peg. He took her on an off-road drive and spent some time at the lookout point. She talked about being the protector in most of her previous relationships. She noted that when she loved, she loved deeply. It also meant getting hurt deeply.

Later in The Golden Bachelor, she confessed to the cameras about falling for him. Even though she didn't share it directly with Mel, she noted that if he felt the same, then she would love to be engaged by the end of the week. The two talked about their Hometown Date, the time when they first met, among other things.

Mel told her that he really liked her and loved being around her. He also appreciated her energy and spirit. After their Fantacy Suite date, Mel talked about being compatible with Peg.

"Peg and I connected on a whole bunch of different levels, and knowing her a little bit better, obviously brings me a little bit closer to her. I have an even better understanding who she is, and we’re quite compatible," he said.
