The Golden Bachelor Season 2 released the finale on November 12, 2025. After a series of unexpected moments, Mel Owens chose Peg after his sons met her.

Earlier, fans witnessed two finalists, Cindy Cullers and Peg Munson, go on their final dates with Mel. With a lot of confusion, things were unclear from Mel's side. The finale revealed Cindy's decision to leave the show.

Later, Mel's sons met Peg. They felt that she was the perfect match for their dad. Mel chose her and gave her a ring that represented commitment.

ABC describes the final episode of The Golden Bachelor as:

The Golden Bachelor Season 2: What happened during the finale?

The Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale saw Cindy's shocking decision to leave the show. It was after she felt that the two had different thoughts and mindsets on various things. Cindy felt that Mel was not on the same page as her.

"He's not interested in making any type of commitment for several years. I'm in my golden years...I'm 60 years old and I'm not interested in being put on hold. He is just not my person," confessed Cindy while leaving.

The Golden Bachelor was shocked to see her go. He recalled his final date with Cindy and noted that it was a perfect date.

"I'm shocked. The date with Cindy...it was perfect. I came in tonight thinking there was a future. But she quit...I don't know what I'm gonna do," said Mel Owens.

Soon, Mel's sons met Peg, the other finalist. Lucas and Andre, along with Mel's friend, Diane, met her. They had various conversations on different topics. She asked Mel's sons about an ideal partner for their dad. Lucas noted that it would be an easy-going and mellow person:

"Just an easy-going, not-too-much-drama, mellow person who really enjoys life," responded Lucas.

He also added that Peg would be the "perfect gal" for his dad. The reason was because, she brought him up and that she was uplifting. During Mel's conversation with his sons, they noted that Peg would be the best-suited partner for him.

Getting an approval along with appreciation, Mel was happy. He confessed that his boys went along "swimmingly" with Peg.

"Peg and my boys got along swimmingly, and getting that resounding thumbs up is wonderful," confessed Mel to the cameras.

Further on, The Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale, Mel decided to go with Peg. It was after he received a thumbs-up from his family members. However, fans didn't see Mel getting on one knee. He gave her a ring. While exchanging that, Mel noted that it represented their commitment to love.

Mel added that it was also about figuring out what their future would hold. While he felt he got the "perfect gal" on the show, Peg noted that she got the "perfect guy."
