The latest episode of The Great British Bake Off Season 16 aired on September 30, 2025. The remaining bakers went through the Chocolate Week and prepared delicious desserts.
For the Chocolate signature challenge, bakers had to prepare edible chocolate cups. With a chocolate of their choice, bakers were also supposed to add a baking element to the task.
Each of the bakers made unique flavored chocolate mousse cups for the challenge. Later, when the judges tasted them, they shared their opinion and appreciated the impressive bakes. One of the bakers, Tom, also received the iconic handshake from Paul Hollywood.

The Great British Bake Off Season 16 Episode 5: Highlights from the Chocolate Week's Signature Challenge
The Great British Bake Off Season 16 Episode 5 started with its Signature Challenge. For that, the hosts instructed the remaining bakers about the task.
"For your Chocolate Signature bake, the judges would like you to make some highly decorated chocolate mousse cups. The judges are looking for some indulgent chocolate mousse desserts inside edible chocolate cups. You can use any chocolate that you like, but there must be a baked element in your cups," announced the hosts.
For the challenge, bakers had two and a half hours. Sharing more about the Chocolate Week and the Signature Challenge, judge Prue Leith stated that what could be better than a chocolate mousse. Fellow judge, Paul Hollywood, talked about the "mousse" and how it melts in the mouth.
The bakers featured in the latest The Great British Bake Off episode were: Lelsey, Aaron, Tom, Toby, Nadia, Jasmine, Nataliia, and Iain.
After the bakers set their cups in various chocolate mixtures of their choice, it was time to unmold the chocolate cups. The next part was to shape their edible chocolate cups into their desired shapes, and get them assembled with the fillings. A few bakers faced issues while they unmolded their cups.
With mere 15 minutes remaining until the challenge was over, the bakers were still filling their cups with various fillings.
The Great British Bake Off star Toby was the first one to get his bakes tasted by the judges. He prepared orange chocolate mousse cups. Judges felt that the balance in the flavor was quite impressive. They also loved Jasmine's chocolate mousse cups and its texture.
For Nataliia's mousse cups, judges said:
"The favor in the mouth is delicious. Nice job."
Seeing Iain's unique shape of chocolate mousse cups, judges felt a medieval touch. Judges enjoyed the mousse and the texture of his chocolate. They also praised the chocolate cups and their taste.

Nadia's chocolate cups made with white chocolate also received praise from the judges. For Aaron's cups, judges felt a "heavenly" taste. The combination of various tastes was also applauded by the judges.
Tom's chocolate cups were quite thin, and they tasted "perfect."
"I mean that...that could be for sale in a patisserie shop in the middle of Paris," said Paul Hollywood.
For his efforts, judge Paul Hollywood shook hands with Tom and applauded his performance in the challenge.
