The Haunted Palace Episodes 11-12 recap: What happens to BiBi?

The Haunted Palace episodes 11 and 12 premiered on May 23 and 24, 2025 and these latest two episodes see more traps and even more tragedy. Not only does the king learn of his Minister Kim’s betrayal and banishes him, he also confronts Colossal Shadow and tells him that he will never succumb to it and defeat it.

The episodes also see Yeo-ri being used as bait by the Colossal Shadow, and Gang Cheol, who has been held by the Colossal Shadow is let go. As he rescues Yeo-ri being trapped inside a cabinet by the Colossal Shadow, they both realize that someone even bigger is going on there that involves more than the two of them.

BiBi also meets an unfortunate end in the latest episodes of The Haunted Palace, which sends Gang Cheol in a deep pit of sorrow as he understands raw pain for the first time.

Let us now explore in detail what happens in The Haunted Palace Episodes 11 and 12.

BiBi sacrifices himself in The Haunted Palace Episodes 11-12

As Yeo-ri comes to know that BiBi and Gang Cheol have been working together to get hold of corrupt nobles in The Haunted Palace, she makes the latter understand that since the nobles are corrupt, sacrificing them might not yield the result they are hoping for.

BiBi, on the other hand, gets frustrated when he comes to know that the only way The Colossal Shadow can be defeated is by sacrificing Gang Cheol. However, when the blind shaman steps in and tells BiBi that he might know a way that will serve BiBi’s purpose without having to sacrifice Gang Cheol, he readily accepts to lure Yeo-ri to another trap.

While BiBi does feel bad about his decision, he sees no other way and thus goes ahead with the plan of asking Yeo-ri to come to the secret shrine. Since Yeo-ri is also aware of how sacrificing Gang Cheol is the only way to destruct The Colossus Shadow, she does not suspect BiBi when he tells her that they need to discuss alternate ways of doing the same and thus reaches the shrine.

Gang Cheol also arrives there as the shaman’s assistant lures him, using Yeo-ri as the bait. By the time everyone is there and Yeo-ri finally understands the shaman’s sinister plan, it gets too late because in a shocking move BiBi throws himself in front of the blades that were meant for Gang Cheol.

As a result, it’s BiBi’s magical bead that is consumed by The Colossal Shadow and Gang Cheol and Yeo-ri make it safely out of the shrine. BiBi’s sacrifice saves Gang Cheol and he dies by the side of the river where Gang Cheol and Yeo-ri took him.

The king finds out about Minister Kim’s betrayal in The Haunted Palace Episodes 11-12

Another major event that happens in the latest two episodes of The Haunted Palace is the king finding out about Minister Kim and how he has been going behind his back. As suspicions of the minister collaborating with the shaman are confirmed, the king asks him for his explanation.

Minister Kim appears to be shameless enough to admit that he indeed was plotting against the king because he wanted to bring reforms and did not want to go on with the way of the corrupt elites. This naturally enrages the king, not only because he trusted his minister but also because that man had raised him after his father passed away during his childhood.

However, the king does not let his emotions cloud his judgement and he exiles Kim right after he makes his confession in The Haunted Palace. The Minister does try to take help of The Colossal Shadow to get back at the king but ultimately dies himself.

The Haunted Palace consists of 16 episodes.
