For more than two years, audiences have eagerly waited for the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2. The wait is finally going to end in a few months as Apple TV has announced the release date of the second chapter of the mystery thriller series.

The streamer has confirmed that The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 will debut on February 20, 2026. The series is based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name and revolves around Hannah Hall, whose husband, Owen, goes missing.

Hannah then bonds with her stepdaughter Bailey, and the two try to figure out what happened to Owen. The sophomore season is being adapted from Dave’s upcoming novel, The First Time I Saw Him.


The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 to premiere on February 20, 2026

The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 will premiere on Apple TV on February 20, 2026, almost three years after the first season, which came out in April 2023. The number of episodes in the new season has been increased from seven to eight; however, the complete release schedule has not been revealed yet.

The show will return over a month after the launch of Laura Dave’s novel The First Time I Saw Him, which serves as a sequel to her book, The Last Thing He Told Me. The upcoming novel will hit the shelves on January 6, 2026.

In the new installment, Owen has returned to Hannah’s life after being missing for five years. Hannah and Bailey then have another challenge at hand as they have to reunite their family before their dark past comes back to haunt them. The official logline reads:

“In season two of The Last Thing He Told Me, when Owen shows up after five years on the run, Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey find themselves in a race to figure out how to reunite their family before the past catches up to them.

Jennifer Garner is returning as Hannah Hall in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2. She also serves as an executive producer on the project. Other cast members who are reprising their roles include Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Owen Michaels, Angourie Rice as Bailey Michaels, Augusto Aguilera as Grady Bradford, and David Morse as Nicholas Bell.

There are some new additions to the cast as well, as acclaimed actors like Rita Wilson and Judy Greer have joined the show in Season 2. The rest of the cast includes Josh Hamilton, Michael Hyatt, Nick Hargrove, Luke Kirby, Michael Galante, and John Noble.

The series has been developed by Laura Dave and Josh Singer. The two also serve as executive producers along with Garner. The rest of the executive producers are Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Daisy von Scherler Mayer, and Merri D. Howard. Aaron Zelman has joined the project as the co-showrunner with Singer in Season 2.
