The Lazarus Project Season 2 finale was a gritty final hour of the show, which addressed many questions about George and the group's time-traveling adventures and set up a new mystery.
The finale begins with Sarah trying to convince Wes to announce Code Black and set the clock backwards so that the group can save Janet stuck in Dr. Grey's lab. As George and the group prepare for their final time travel to save Janet and put an end to the three-week time loop, Sarah makes up her mind and betrays them in the end.
The decisions of all the characters in 2012 affect their present, and only a few of them manage to make it back to 2024. While George is one of them, he is in for a surprise when he visits the destroyed Lazarus HQ in the present.

The Lazarus Project Season 2 ending explained: The Dane tampers with the time-traveling machine
The Lazarus Project Season 2 finale begins with Sarah and Wes in 2012, where the latter asks her what the Lazarus does. While Sarah tries to convince Wes to declare a Code Black, she is adamant against it. However, when Sarah tells her that one of Dr. Gray's disciples is still alive and the plans for the time machine are still in the world, Wes is forced to announce a Code Black.
This sets the events of the finale in motion, with George, the Dane, and the rest of the group on the time machine plane. While Rebrove tries to kill the Dabe, Archie knocks him down, and the group restrains him in the back of the plane. Sarah sneaks in and tries to get information about the other time machine in the lab from the Dane. However, things take a grave turn for the group when the Dane shoots the component in the time machine that’s necessary for time travel, and the group is stuck in 2012.
In The Lazarus Project Season 2 finale, Becky informs everyone about the time machine in Grey's lab and the group races against time to secure it before Wes orders Lazarus to destroy it, binding the group in 2012 forever. Sarah takes crucial information from Dane and prepares to betray the group by destroying the time machine.

After much convincing, the group heads to the lab to save Janet.
The group reunites with future Janet and past Becky at the lab, while Sarah wanders off into the room, trying to destroy the time machine. As the group prepares to leave, Wes orders an attack on the lab, but much to her surprise, Shiv cancels the order.
