Apple TV+ kick-started The Morning Show Season 4 with an explosive premiere, and we returned to a changed newsroom. The new season of this Emmy-winning series took place after a two-year time jump, after Alex Levy finalised UBA's merger with NBN, and Bradley Jackson confessed her crime to the FBI.
While Alex is still working in a changed UBA, she is no longer hosting The Morning Show. On the other hand, after the explosive events of the Season 3 finale, Bradley Jackson has retreated to her hometown in West Virginia. The once rebellious news anchor is now away from the world of journalism, but a potential environmental scandal brings her back to the UBA and New York.
In the changed UBN, Stella is now the CEO, and Mia Jordan is overseeing The Morning Show. In-house meteorologist Yanko Flores and former Olympian Chris Hunter are now hosting the TMS.
Here is the complete The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 1 recap.
The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 1 recap: What's happening in UBN?
The Morning Show Season 4 kicks off with a changed UBA Network, which has now become UBN, following its merger with NBN. Alex Levy, who is no longer hosting TMS, is busy with the upcoming Paris Olympics and has also got a new assistant in Remy. In addition to these changes, the UBN has also welcomed some new faces after its merger, to take off some political heat from the past season.
Among the new characters introduced this season, we have Brodie, a podcaster who hosts a show about men's activism. While nobody likes him at the UBN, his show still brings excellent numbers for the network. Additionally, Head of Sports Ben and strategist Celine round up the new additions in the UBN. We also learn that Celine has a boyfriend named Miles, who is having a steamy affair with her boss, Stella.
Alex creates a political scandal in The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 1
While Bradley is absent from UBN, Alex is perfectly channeling her rebellious streak in The Morning Show Season 4. In Episode 1, she is given a simple task: to interview Iranian fencer Roya Nazari and keep the questions strictly on sports and away from politics. However, before the interview, Roya's father hands Alex a note saying they want to defect. During the interview, while Alex mostly sticks to the Olympics, she alarms Roya's Iranian Bodyguard when she openly asks if she wants to defect. While the bodyguard pulls the plug on the interview, Alex uses a fake fire alarm and helps Roya and her father escape.
This enrages Mia, and she is forced to remove Alex from the Olympics coverage and shifts her temporarily back to The Morning Show. She also takes this as an opportunity and convinces Stella to bring Bradley on board again and have her co-host The Morning Show with Alex.
On the other hand, Alex maintains contact with Roya and her father, and it is revealed that he is being hunted by the Iranian government and is currently facing an investigation from the FBI. When she asks her professor father for help, he refuses and advises Alex to stay clear of this issue, but the changed news anchor seems adamant.
Bradley Jackson returns to New York in The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 1
Bradley Jackson has retreated to a quiet life in her hometown in The Morning Show Season 4. She is now a teacher at a community college, steering clear of the UBN and Alex Levy. However, her old job comes calling back when Mia arrives with her proposal. She asks Bradley to return to UBN and co-host TMS with Alex. While Bradley was still skeptical about returning, an anonymous tip changed her mind.
In the final moments of The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 1, Bradley received a tip warning her about an impending environmental scandal. The tip hinted that UBN is covering up a scandal about a chemical plant that is responsible for cancer and even birth defects. This piques Bradley's interest, and she finally returns to New York.
However, Bradley does not receive a positive welcome from Alex when she shows up at her apartment. Since Alex was under the impression that Bradley would likely reject the job offer, the friends bickered. However, Bradley Jackson is finally back in New York, and she has an important story to chase.
The Morning Show Season 4 will release weekly episodes on Apple TV every Wednesday.
The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 2 is slated to be released on Apple TV+ on September 24, 2025.
