The Neighborhood Season 8 is going to be the final installment of the hit CBS sitcom. For eight years, the audience has thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics between the Johnsons and the Butlers.

The two families have formed a close bond despite their cultural clashes, but are now ready to say goodbye to the viewers with the release of the final episodes. The Neighborhood Season 8 is all set to premiere on CBS on October 13, 2025.

The last season brings back the iconic cast for one last time, including Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, and Beth Behrs. Here is all you need to know about the eighth season of the sitcom, including its release date, plot, and cast details.

The release date of The Neighborhood Season 8

CBS has confirmed the release date of The Neighborhood Season 8 as Monday, October 13, 2025. New episodes of the show will be aired weekly on Mondays at 8 PM ET / PT. The total number of episodes has not been confirmed as of now.

The eighth season was announced as the final chapter during the show’s renewal in March this year. While CBS did not reveal the reason behind ending the series despite its popularity, increasing costs have been reported to be a concern for the network.

As a show continues for years, the cast contracts have to be renewed, which leads to increased costs. Considering that The Neighborhood has a massive ensemble with some big names, the cast’s pay might have led to increased budgets, which ultimately led CBS to pull the plug on the series.

The plot of The Neighborhood Season 8

Like most sitcoms, The Neighborhood also features standalone stories in every episode involving the Johnsons and the Butlers. Having spent over seven years beside each other, the two families are now closer than ever and consider each other best friends.

CBS has released the logline for the first episode of the season, titled Welcome to the New Normals, which teases that the two families are up for some new adventures as Tina has found a new passion. Meanwhile, Marty and Courtney seem to be taking the next step in the relationship. The logline reads:

“The Johnsons and Butlers face big changes and unexpected challenges as Tina discovers a new passion; Malcolm navigates work and family boundaries; Courtney takes a major step with Marty; Dave's tech experiment backfires.”
