What happened in Episode 7 of The Rainmaker?

In Episode 7 of The Rainmaker, Kelly is seen living with Dot, as Rudy took her there to hide her from her abusive husband, Cliff. However, Cliff still manages to find her and tries to attack her. This results in a physical altercation between Rudy and Cliff at Dot's house. As Cliff tries to attack Rudy, Kelly shoots him and kills him.

Rudy takes the fall for her and is arrested. After investigating the crime scene, Bruiser and her team learn that Rudy was lying about killing Cliff in self-defense. She confronts him and talks to Kelly, who does not want Rudy to take the blame for her crime. However, Bruiser finds a way to get both of them acquitted.

She takes them to Quinn, who is given Cliff's case, and reveals to him what had happened, with Rudy confessing to his lie. Bruiser asks Quinn to drop charges against Rudy as they both know how this type of case will be treated in court. Therefore, Quinn drops the charges against Rudy, and Kelly is also not arrested for killing her husband.

Elsewhere, Brad asks Sarah to go and meet Jackie's ex-boyfriend, Charlie, and find out about the stolen files. Charlie is seen in the hospital taking care of his wife, Amber, who was attacked by Pritcher. When Sarah visits him and asks about the files, Charlie lies to her about not knowing anything about them.

Furthermore, Bruiser learns that Prince was linked to her father's arrest and might not be a trustworthy ally for her. This is proven true, as at the end of the episode, Prince is seen being paid by Leo to find out about Pritcher and Jackie's whereabouts.
