157 suspects. 132 rooms. One dead body - this is essentially the gist of the mystery at hand. Highly skilled detective Cordelia Cupp is called in to investigate when A.B. Wynter, the chief usher of the White House, is found dead during an important dinner party. With the White House filled with dignitaries from around the globe, everyone is a suspect in Cordelia's eyes.

Despite positive reviews, Netflix canceled The Residence after just one season.

1) Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp

Actress Uzo Aduba plays the lead role of Cordelia Cupp in The Residence, who is a consulting detective for DC’s Metropolitan Police Department. A mysterious death in the White House brings Cupp to the centre of the action, and she begins to piece together the murder to expose the killer. An avid bird-watcher, Cordelia is known for her acute observational skills and hardly misses a clue.

Aduba recently bagged the 2025 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Some of her other breakout projects include Orange is the New Black, Mrs. America, and Painkiller.

2) Randall Park as Edwin Park

An FBI special agent, Edwin Park is Cordelia Cupp's Watson, who is not a fan of her detective style initially. However, Park is forced to work alongside Cordelia after he is assigned to the White House murder mystery. Since Cupp is more of a one-woman army, Edwin initially struggles to find his rhythm with the Detective, but the two eventually work together to find the killer.

American actor Randall Park is most famously known for his Netflix rom-com movie Always Be My Maybe. The actor has also appeared in projects like Big Mouth, The Office, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Blockbuster.

3) Giancarlo Esposito as A.B. Wynter

The heart and soul of the White House, A.B. Wynter, is the loyal Chief Usher who has been working in the building for about 20 years. As a great admirer of traditions and institutions, Wynter had some trouble adapting to the changing times at the White House, which might have led to his death.

Giancarlo Esposito is certainly one of the greatest additions to The Residence cast. He is a veteran star who has appeared in projects like The Usual Suspects, Fresh, and Last Holiday.

4) Susan Kelechi Watson as Jasmine Haney

One of the most suspicious characters in The Residence cast, Jasmine Haney is an assistant usher to Wynter, who is too eager to climb the professional ladder and become the Chief Usher. Her ambition and proximity to the victim made her a prime suspect for Cordelia Cupp. While Jasmine breaks down the events of the day leading to Wynter's murder, Cupp keeps a close eye on her.

Actress Susan Kelechi is best known for playing Beth Pearson in This Is Us, a role that won her two ensemble SAG Awards. She has also appeared in Rumble and Ada Twist, Scientist.
