The release of The Sandman Season 2 is just around the corner. The hit superhero series returns for the final time after a wait of almost three years. Based on the DC Comics of the same name, the show revolves around Lord Morpheus, the ruler of the realm of Dreaming.

The Sandman Season 2 Episode 1 will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, July 3, 2025. The episode will be dropped at 12 am ET / 3 am , like all the original programs on Netflix. However, it will not be the only episode that will be released that day.
Instead, the first six episodes of the season will be available to watch at the same time. Netflix is releasing the second season in two volumes, followed by a bonus episode. The first part, featuring six episodes, comes out on July 3. The second volume, comprising five episodes, will be released on July 24, 2025, and a special bonus episode will premiere on July 31, 2025.
To watch the show, you need to have an active subscription to Netflix. The streamer offers a Standard with ads for $7.99 per month, a Standard ad-free plan at $17.99 per month, and a Premium plan at $24.99 per month.
What to expect from The Sandman Season 2?
The first episode is titled Season of Mist. It will likely pick up after the first season’s finale. As per the official description by Netflix, Dream will face the consequences of his past actions. It will not only threaten his life, but also his kingdom and the waking world. The synopsis for Season 2 reads:
“After a fateful reunion with his family, the final season finds Dream of the Endless faced with one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds.”

Tom Sturridge reprises his role as Dream in the second season. He is joined by Kirby as Death, Donna Preston as Despair, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Freddie Fox as Loki, Ruairi O’Connor as Orpheus, Ann Skelly as Nuala, Laurence O’Fuarain as Thor, Clive Russell as Odin, Jack Gleeson as Puck, Steve Coogan as the voice of Barnabas, and Indya Moore as Wanda.
