The Sandman Season 2 is going to mark the end of the hit superhero series, but Netflix is making sure that the show goes out with a bang. Apart from the previously announced 11 episodes, the second season is going to feature a special bonus episode to give the perfect farewell to Lord Morpheus, aka Dream.
The announcement was made along with the revelation of episode titles. The Sandman Season 2 is going to be released in three parts now: Volume 1 on July 3, 2025, Volume 2 on July 24, 2025, and the bonus episode on July 31, 2025.
Based on the DC Comics character, the show tells the story of Lord Morpheus, a personification of dreams who escapes after 106 years of captivity. He then has to protect his realm from a fallout.
The Sandman Season 2 will have a bonus episode
The special bonus will mark the 12th episode of The Sandman Season 2. Titled Death: The High Cost of Living, it will be released on July 31, 2025. On the other hand, the first volume of the season will feature six episodes and will come out on July 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, the second volume, comprising five episodes, will be released on July 24, 2025. The show is returning after a long wait of three years, as the first installment was released in August 2022. Netflix revealed the titles of the new season’s episodes recently, which are given below:

- Episode 1: Season of Mists
- Episode 2: The Ruler of Hell
- Episode 3: More Devils Than Vast Hell Can Hold
- Episode 4: Brief Lives
- Episode 5: The Song of Orpheus
- Episode 6: Family Blood
Volume 2:
- Episode 7: Time and Night
- Episode 8: Fuel for the Fire
- Episode 9: The Kindly Ones
- Episode 10: Long Live the King
- Episode 11: A Tale of Graceful Ends
Bonus:
- Episode 12: Death: The High Cost of Living
The season will officially draw a conclusion to Dream’s story and will adapt several arcs from the DC Comics. At the same time, Netflix has teased some twists and turns that will surprise even the comic fans. The official synopsis of the second season reads:
“After a fateful reunion with his family, the final season finds Dream of the Endless faced with one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything.”
The Sandman Season 2 stars Tom Sturridge as the titular character. He is joined by Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven, David Thewlis as John Dee, and Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine.
The cast also includes Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, Kirby[a] as Death, Ferdinand Kingsley as Hob Gadling, Kyo Ra as Rose Walker, and Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall.
