Hulu’s popular reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is bringing fans a highly anticipated reunion for season 2 on July 1, hosted by Nick Viall. While the event promises drama, resolution, and even a surprise announcement, one major cast member will not be present.

Demi Engemann, who played a central role in several of the season’s major storylines and conflicts, is noticeably absent from the official cast reunion photo. The streaming platform confirmed the special would reunite eight women, not nine, sparking questions among viewers about Engemann's whereabouts.

Known for its focus on Utah-based Mormon mom influencers, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives became a social media phenomenon through its depiction of friendships, breakups, and feuds both online and offline.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Reunion special to feature eight cast members

Hulu has officially announced a reunion for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2, featuring eight of the show’s core cast members. The special, hosted by The Bachelor alum and podcast personality Nick Viall, has already been filmed, with the cast dressed in formal attire for a newly released photo.

The reunion will premiere on Hulu on July 1. Viall, who has become a key figure in #MomTok commentary, will moderate the women's conversations as they discuss the drama and fallout of the latest season.

Despite expectations that all nine cast members would return for the reunion, fans immediately noticed Demi Engemann's absence from promotional materials. This is especially notable given her central involvement in several key confrontations.

She was at the center of ongoing tensions with Taylor Frankie Paul, Jessi Ngatikaura, and Jen Affleck. She also had separate disputes involving Jessi’s hair salon, her trip with cast members to Vanderpump Villa, and her broader role in shaping the group dynamics.

While no official explanation has been provided for her absence, her non-participation stands out, especially considering even some husbands of cast members are expected to appear on the special. Hulu’s press materials describe the reunion as featuring:

“never-before-seen footage and a surprise announcement,” from both the #MomTok and #DadTok communities.

Whether or not this includes any mention of Engemann remains unknown. The second season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives followed the group’s evolving relationships and public personas following the first season’s debut.

Central plotlines included the unraveling of Taylor Frankie Paul’s relationship with Dakota Mortenson, Jen and Zac Affleck’s ongoing marital issues, and Whitney Leavitt’s return to the #MomTok circle—something that visibly upset cast member Mikayla Matthews.

Hulu initially ordered 20 episodes for season 2 but only released 10 when the season premiered, leading to confusion among viewers about the series' future. However, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed in late May that production is underway for the remaining 10 episodes, which will complete the second season later in 2025.

Live event in Las Vegas to feature cast and confessions

While the official televised reunion will stream on July 1, fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives can also attend a live event featuring the cast in person. On June 7, six cast members—Taylor Frankie Paul, Mayci Neeley, Jen Affleck, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor, and Jessi Ngatikaura—will take the stage at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

The event, described on the venue’s website as a “one-of-a-kind show,” blends pop culture commentary, interactive segments, and unscripted roundtable discussions.

One featured segment, “Sinner Sunday Confessional,” will allow the cast to read anonymously submitted fan confessions. According to the event description, the segment promises “unfiltered reactions and zero judgment” from the cast. A joint quote from the participating cast members posted by The Venetian reads:

“We’re beyond excited to bring MomTok directly to our fans at The Venetian Resort," the MomTok women said in a press release. "This show is our chance to connect, let loose and give audiences an unforgettable girls’ night out in Vegas – a city that’s become such an iconic part of our story!”

Fans can stream The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Hulu.
