The limited series, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, premiered on Hulu on August 20, 2025. The official synopsis of the show, as mentioned by Rotten Tomatoes, reads,
“Centers on Amanda Knox's harrowing journey after being wrongfully imprisoned for her roommate's murder, her battle to prove her innocence and regain her freedom.”
The first two episodes of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox have already established the kind of mistreatment and harassment Amanda is receiving and will continue to receive from the Italian police, simply based on their prejudice against an American girl.

Amanda discovers Meredith Kercher’s body in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox
The protagonist of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox has been portrayed in a unique light, who, despite difficulties since her childhood regarding her parents’ marriage, never let her dream of going to Italy to study fade away.
As she went on her own journey into adulthood in Italy, it became evident that fate had other plans for her. Amanda found a good friend in Meredith, with whom she shared her living place along with two other roommates, Filomena and Laura.
While Meredith was the only one who had embraced Amanda with open arms, the titular character had also found love in Raffaele Sollecito, an Italian guy, with whom Amanda felt that she could be completely herself.
As she started spending her days with her boyfriend, Amanda had no idea that this piece of heaven was soon to be taken away from her. One day, after she came back to her place from Raffaele’s for a short while to pick up some stuff, she found blood stains, and that eventually led her to discover Meredith’s body, bearing violent signs of assault.
Amanda faces discrimination from the police in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox
After Meredith's body is discovered, law enforcement is naturally called in, and this is where the real trouble for Amanda begins. With the arrival of Prosecutor Giuliano Mignini and Head of Homicide Monica Napoleoni, Amada becomes a quick suspect, not because some hard evidence is found against her, but because the local officers do not like her.
The language, of course, provides further difficulty for Amanda to get her story set. However, with her broken Italian, she does her best to convey what she found, and Raffaele also helps her communicate in a better way with the police.
However, Raffaele’s involvement with Amanda seems to be another point of dislike for the law enforcement officials, who at this point look like being driven by petty jealousy and prejudice. Eventually, the police tricked Amanda into coming to the station and getting her alone; they made her sign a false statement and then took her into custody.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox can be streamed on Hulu.
