The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is almost ready to wrap up the spinoff in its fourth season, and the seeds to this end are being laid down in the third season itself. The third season is all set to premiere on September 7, and early critics' scores for the new season point to an exciting penultimate ending for the spinoff series.
The previous two seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon sit at a 70% and 69% score from critics' score aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. However, the third season has an astounding 80% score on the Tomatometer at the time of writing. This score might be subject to change as the episodes premiere and more reviews come in. This high score early on is still an extremely positive sign for The Walking Dead franchise.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 opens with the highest ever Rotten Tomatoes score
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Season 2, has set up an exciting premise for the third season premiere. By the end of the previous season, Daryl and Carol had decided to follow two travelers who promised them a way into England, while Ash and Laurent decided not to accompany them and instead stayed behind.
Season 2 revealed how this plan went up in smithereens, and the travelers turned on Daryl and Carol owing to some hallucinogenic toxins. Nevertheless, by the end of the season, they end up in England and plan to make their way to America. A final journey for the duo who never give up. However, as the trailer for Season 3 reveals, they aren't as lucky as last time, and instead of finding themselves in Maine, they end up in Spain. (Well, close enough)
The trailer sets the duo up for a whole new journey where they cross paths with new threats, make new friends and enemies, and end up fighting new wars (some that aren't even theirs to fight), but through it all, they stick together, and they never give up.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is making its way towards the end, but it's taking the long, bumpy, and threat-filled way, going through all the highs and lows that the duo could possibly face. Through it all, their dynamic stays strong as ever, just as Daryl promises in the trailer for the third season:
"Let's keep doing that. Let's keep never giving up"

It appears this dedicated and meaningful storyline, the connections between the characters, and the action-packed journey have impressed the critics of the show, leading to a series-high Rotten Tomatoes score for the third season. The 80% score on the review aggregator is based on 5 reviews, a number that is sure to change as the episodes premiere and more reviews come pouring in, but the early reviews offer a positive sign for fans of the show.
Daryl and Carol's story might be close to completing on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, but their journey, first in France, then in England, and now in Spain, continues to offer one of the greatest narratives in this post-apocalyptic world.
According to reports, the final season is set to resume production soon in Spain for the final eight episodes, bringing Daryl and Carol's story to a close.
For now, here's a quick recap of Season 2 before Season 3 premieres.
