In Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3, Carol and Daryl begin to see the problems in the community, which might increase further after Daryl has killed three El Alcazar men. While Carol feels guilty about Alba being taken by El Alcazar, Daryl is more than eager to head back home.

He tells Carol to gather supplies and goes with Roberto to fix the boat. Roberto then suggests taking him to the ship captain who lives in the old lighthouse, as she can solve their problems. As they approach, they are met with a woman named Valentina drawing her gun on Daryl.

She is amused after Daryl tells her that they need the boat to sail away to America. However, she agrees to help them provide material to fix the boat, only if they take Roberto and Justina with them, which Roberto wants. While doubtful at first, Daryl agrees, and the duo begins their journey toward an abandoned shipyard.

Furthermore, they also get the rudder to fix the boat. While going back, Daryl leaves Laurent’s Rubik’s cube near Camino de Santiago, a statue where people leave messages for their loved ones.

Furthermore, Carol gets closer to Roberto’s father, Antonio, while eying the solar panel that they would want for their journey back home. He also reveals details about the time he lost his wife and how it became a reason for the friction between him and Fede. However, he resorted to stopping himself from revealing much about it.

She realises that Fede has been hiding those ribbons, which is why she has never been chosen by El Alcazar.

She begins to feel guilty of being able to survive due to her uncle, and especially due to Alba being picked and separated from her mother. As she tells Carol about it, the latter tries to give them meaningful advice to help her get rid of the guilt. However, talking to her only gives Justina the perfect plan.

Later, it is seen that Justina offers herself in place of Alba to go with El Alcazar, and no one was able to stop her. All of this happened before Roberto came back with Daryl, resulting in the separation of the young lovers.
