What happened in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 finale?
Maggie and Negan’s partnership fell apart in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 finale. After working through the season together, Negan found out that Maggie brought him to Manhattan to trade him for her kidnapped son, Hershel, which led to a fight between the two.
Negan then gave up his freedom and surrendered to the Croat to save Hershel. However, Hershel remained angry with Maggie and told her that she cared more about getting revenge on Negan than about being there for him. Maggie started to realize that her need for revenge had made her lose focus on what really mattered.
Meanwhile, Negan ended up in the hands of the Dama, who wanted him to lead Manhattan’s people in a war against New Babylon. To force him to obey, she showed him Hershel’s severed toe as a threat. If he did not do what she wanted, Maggie and Hershel would be hurt. The season ended with Negan trapped and Maggie questioning everything she had done.
