A brand new season of The White Lotus earlier this year kept the viewers hooked to their screens. Season 3 of the black comedy series premiered on February 16, 2025, on HBO Max, and brought a new group of characters to a new luxury hotel at a new location.

While the characters were dealing with their own absurd problems, the storyline about female friendship between Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and Carrie Coon's characters caught everyone's attention. In The Kelly Clarkson Show, Bibb talked about how she and the others thought that it would have been great if the trio were more honest with each other about their emotions, rather than glossing over them and portraying a dishonest version of themselves.

She further shared that after portraying the character of Kate in the series, she has been trying to be more vulnerable in her real life and honest about her feelings, unlike Kate.

More on this in our story.

The White Lotus: Leslie Bibb talks about what could've saved her character's friendship in the show

Season 3 of The White Lotus saw the characters vacationing in a new luxury hotel in Thailand. Among the various characters were Leslie Bibb's Kate and her two friends, who came to the White Lotus hotel for a girls' trip after a long time.

However, as the show progressed, it was visible that the three friends, namely, Kate, Laurie, and Jaclyn, were far from honest with each other. As they had met each other after a long time, they relied on depicting that they were living a good life. All these toxic traits that society has forced women to indulge in, such as comparison and being competitive with each other, were present in that lifelong friendship between the women.

While talking to Kelly Clarkson on her show in March 2025, Leslie Bibb confessed that if her character were honest with her friends, the friendship between the three wouldn't have been that dysfunctional. She said:

"We sort of laughed and said, "If they'd just gotten there and been like, 'I gotta tell you, my life right now is not great,' or 'this is where I am.'" But all three of them are trying to like sort of keep up and keep up appearances, like being comparative and competetion. "

Keeping up appearances and gossiping behind their friends harmed their friendship and made it appear fake. However, the portrayal was also one of the rawest and authentic versions of a toxic friendship that exists in the real world as well, which made it more intriguing to watch in a show themed mostly around escapism from the real world.

Bibb further talked about how the show and playing the character in The White Lotus Season 3 have made her try to appear more vulnerable and be honest about when life gets hard, and talk about it freely. She further stated:

"I think what I have taken from the girls and that relationship and that storyline is to try to be more vulnerable, and try to just be like really present. And doing that, it makes me feel more in my body, which is really nice."
