Tracker Season 3: Plot and cast

Season 2 of Tracker ended with Colter discovering who pushed his father off the cliff. After investigating and solving the child trafficking case, he reached the house of Otto Waldron, who knew his father. At the end of their conversation, Otto confessed to being on the cliff from where his father was pushed and killed.

In the scene, Otto shared that he was asked to help Colter's mother. The information shocked Colter, and the show ended without revealing his reaction. Season 3 of the action drama series will pick up from here and unravel more about how Mary is linked to Ashton's death.

Showrunner Elwood Reid shared with TVLine that the scene with Otto and Colter has more to unravel. Reid stated that Otto told Colter about Mary asking him to be on the cliff, not that she ordered him to kill Ashton Shaw. Therefore, there is much to be revealed in the scene. He said:

"Even though the finale gives you the next big piece of the puzzle, there’s still more out there to mine in that storyline, particularly when it comes to [Mary]. He said, ‘she asked me to be up there,’ so there’s much more to that story to unpack."

He further revealed that more about Ashton's work with the government will be depicted in the upcoming season 3.

The cast of Tracker Season 3 includes Justin Hartley, Wendy Crewson, Fiona Rene, and Alex Fernandez. Abby McEnany and Eric Graise will not be appearing in Season 3 of the action series.

Jensen Ackles, who plays the character of Colter's brother, Russell Shaw, will also be appearing in the CBS action drama, including the premiere episode, which is set to debut on October 19, 2025.
