The coaches attended an interview with KATU Lifestyle, which aired on August 11, 2025. They shared their thoughts on the seriousness of the "Rush" process and how intense it can get. They also talked about moms who have particular expectations for their daughters, and they were there with them every step of the way.

When the host asked the coaches about their roles in helping girls, A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush coach, Bill Alverson, shared:

"We work on how to engage, how to determine which sorority to cut that you get to cut, how to take it, when you don't get the one back you wanted, how we're developing and navigating life. To many people, this is their first step into adulthood. And we're developing confidence. And that's a big theme of Brandis and I is, get that confidence going. So you're secure to navigate your own path."

During their recent interview with KATU Lifestyle A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush coaches Bill Alverson and Brandis Bradley opened up about their roles and what exactly it is that they do. Bill mentioned he works with moms and daughters. He describes his role as more like a "life coach."

"We're getting you ready to make sure everything is done. So, that's kind of your homework, applications, videos, etc. Your social media, how does it look?"

They work on engagement, and for most girls, it is their first step into "adulthood." Hence, the coaches work on helping them to develop their confidence.

"And you have to tell mama bye-bye. She can't do it for you. So, there's a lot of interesting journeys there because mom's going to do whatever she can do to make it happen. And I get to tell them you need to sit down," added Bill.

As Bill mentioned, he tells moms to "sit down." A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush coach Brandis added:

"And Bill does. He tells them to sit down and shut up, too.

Further, the host asked Brandis about why moms are "so much" invested in their daughters getting into sororities. She responded that it was about being "invested" in their children. However, some people might look at it as the moms are "over the top." They might even refer to them as "crazy."

But Brandis shared her perspective on the situation.

"But what greater gift could you give to your child than to actually not just tell them but show them you are important to me? You are so important to me that I am more interested in you than anything else in this world."

She referred to it as the "most important gift" a mother can give her daughter. She added that it was "kind of sweet" that the girls had at least one person in their corner.

For the fans who might not know the "rush" they talked about, A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush trailer describes it quite accurately.

Brandis Bradley narrates it as:

"Rush is a phenomenon. It's an enigma. It's intoxicating.....I am the ultimate authority when it comes to Rush on TikTok. If you're going through Rush, you're going to want to get on my radar."

Further, the trailer reveals that there are multiple outfits, interviews, and open houses. It mentions that parents need to get their "pocketbooks" because they have to pay "to play" on sorority row. That included parents who are willing to pay thousands of dollars on clothes, jewellery, and on Rush consultants.
