From completing his tasks to trying to console him after his father’s death, Vigilante, even after lacking the basic range of human emotions, has shown numerous moments of real friendship with Peacemaker.

In episode 2 of Peacemaker Season 1, Chris/Peacemaker finds himself in a vulnerable moment while remembering Rick Flag. However, his moment of sadness is cut short when his best friend, Vigilante, arrives, and he is glad to catch up with his best friend.

Vigilante even tries to console Peacemaker by saying that he shouldn't feel bad about killing criminals and later takes him to blow things up to cheer up his BFF, giving us one of the perfect friendship moments of the series.

8) Completes Peacemaker’s task for him (Season 1, Episode 3)

While not everyone is Vigilante's fan, he is still one of the few people who is as reliable as a shadow for Peacemaker. This is proved in episode 3 of Peacemaker when, as the team was investigating Goff and the butterfly aliens posing as his family, Vigilante arrived at the right time.

Murn orders Chris to kill Goff’s family, but he is unable to do it as there are children as well. Being a good and loyal friend, Vigilante happily kills everyone in Goff’s family, only leaving him alive, and completing Chris' task, so that he doesn’t add more trauma to his mind.

7) Vigilante thanks Peacemaker for letting the senator torture him (Season 1, Episode 4)

While they eliminate Goff’s butterfly family in Peacemaker Season 1 episode 3, the duo still get captured by Goff and are later rescued by their other teammates. Later, while going to Chris’s Dad’s house at the beginning of Peacemaker Season 1 episode 4, Vigilante/ Chase sarcastically thanks Peacemaker for not helping him out when the senator/Goff was torturing him.

He tells him that Chris helped him become a better version of himself, but also complains about Chris not caring enough about his pinky toe, which Goff was about to snap off. Thai is one of the lighthearted moments, which clearly gives the bestie vibe with how perfectly Chris understands Chase’s humor and sarcasm.

6) Plots to kill Augie to save Chris/ Peacemaker (Season 1, Episode 4)

Since the beginning of Peacemaker season 1, we have seen how dismissive Chris’s dad, Auggie, is of him. The fascist and white supremacist father of the superhero never appreciates his son’s work. Moreover, whatever struggles Chris is dealing with, regarding his morality, is due to his upbringing by Auggie in a violent world.

Vigilante knows how problematic Auggie is, but he is more irate at how Chris is treated, which Leota uses to provoke Vigilante to attempt to kill Auggie, once and for all, giving Chris a better chance at living.

5) Vigilante worries about making things worse for Chris/Peacemaker (Season 1, Episode 4)

Vigilante plots an elaborate plan to get himself arrested in episode 4 of Peacemaker Season 1. After being locked up in prison, he tries to provoke Auggie to fight him, but his plan fails as Auggie does not come to fight him. He is later helped by Harcourt to flee from prison, but is filled with worry for his best friend, as he failed his job.

Now, Auggie thinks his son might have sent someone to kill him, making the relationship between the father and son more complicated, which worries Vigilante as he thinks he might have made matters worse for Chris rather than helping him.

4) Disrupt Leota’s apology (Season 1, Episode 8)

It is not just blowing things up or watching each other's backs that makes vigilante and Peacemaker’s friendship real and iconic in Peacemaker Season 1, but also how they both are always in on each other's silly jokes.

For instance, in the finale of Peacemaker Season 1, Leota tries to apologise to Chris but couldn’t due to Peacemaker and Vigilante making fart noises to disrupt her apology. Later in the episode, Vigilante ranks Peacemaker on top in his friend list, which we have always been sure of.

3) Vigilante helps Peacemaker in coming to terms with his father’s disdain (Season 1, Episode 7)

There are several moments in Peacemaker Season 1 where Chris still struggles to deal with his troubled past. He remembers how his brother Keith's death changed Auggie’s behavior toward him. He blames and hates Chris for killing his other son, making it a painful memory and reality for Chris.

However, he has a friend who is always on the lookout for him and helps him pull himself together in situations like this, so that he can focus on the mission ahead, making him the best and the most caring friend.

2) Saves Peacemaker from Auggie (Season 1, Episode 7)

Episode 7 might be the best episode of Peacemaker Season 1 as it shows an epic fight between the father and the son. Auggie/the white Dragon reaches where Peacemaker is to end him, but has to fight his team first.

While Economos kills Auggie’s followers, Vigilante attacks the man himself, which causes Auggie’s suit to short-circuit, hence saving Chris from being attacked by his father.

1) Vigilante comforts Peacemaker (Season 1, Episode 7)

Packing up so much in this single episode in Peacemaker season 1, it also gave us one of the most heartbreaking moments between Chris and an awkward moment between friends. In episode 7, Chris ends up killing his own father, which sends him into a spiral.

He still considers Auggie his family, even if he was mean to him and not a very good person, but killing him pushes him over the edge, and he begins sobbing. His best friend, Vigilante, misreads his emotions and thinks he is doing his facial exercise, but also awkwardly comforts him, giving us a heartbreaking yet memorable moment that depicts the friendship between the two.
