Wednesday fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of their beloved show. The daughter in the Addams family stars in her own eerie, gothic mystery at Nevermore Academy, and if you love that dark sparkle, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stands right beside it.

You will find a kindred spooky sister in Sabrina. Both of them are outsiders at magical schools, and both wrestle with supernatural power. They also bring that moody teenage energy. Wednesday Season 2 arrives on August 6, 2025, so consider diving into Sabrina’s world to really amp up that gothic vibe.

Sabrina Spellman is a half-witch, half-human teen torn between mortal life at high school and magical destiny at the Academy of Unseen Arts. She steps into her power on her sixteenth birthday, and just like Wednesday, she questions authority, fights monsters, and holds her own in a world made to scare her. Fans who are already excited for more school‑based mysteries will feel right at home in Sabrina’s world.

Wednesday and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are more alike than you think

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina begins with Sabrina coming of age in Greendale and choosing witchcraft on her sixteenth birthday. She goes to an academy filled with magic, dark secrets, and teenage power struggles. Wednesday’s world at Nevermore echoes Sabrina’s world in so many ways. There is mystical boarding school drama, goth‑tinged visual flair, and the sense that you’re watching someone carve their own path against supernatural odds.

Sabrina’s show layers feminist themes, LGBTQ+ representation, and modern witchcraft with utmost care. Fans who love how Wednesday Addams breaks rules and challenges norms will see the same strength in Sabrina. They both stand up to patriarchal rules, and both choose what kind of person they want to be. Oh, and they do it with style.

Sabrina’s life is that of a half-mortal teenage world by day and a secret witchy realm by night. She lives in Greendale with her stern Aunt Zelda and nurturing Aunt Hilda, plus her witty warlock cousin Ambrose. At Baxter High, Sabrina tries to be a normal student and cheerleader while hiding her true identity, and she leans on her best friends, Rosalind (“Roz”), Susie, and Harvey.

Harvey is Sabrina’s first love. Eventually, their romance goes through heartbreak when reality and magic collide. And then there’s Nicholas Scratch, the handsome warlock from the Academy who challenges Sabrina’s loyalties and stirs deeper feelings. Through all this, Sabrina’s balancing act between human life, family duties, friendships, and romantic entanglements makes her journey magical as well as grounded.

Critics gave it an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes overall, so that already says a lot about the show. And while parts 3 and 4 dip at times, the early seasons have a moody, atmospheric feel you’ll recognize if you loved the eerie Nevermore vibes. Sabrina stays spooky, stylish, and emotionally gripping, especially if you’re already craving that gothic, introspective teen hero in your streaming queue.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina scratches the itch fans feel for dark, witchy mystery and goes further. There's coven instead of family drama, cosmic horror instead of investigative glee, and girl-power energy similar to Wednesday's. Wednesday fans deserve something equally enchanting, and Sabrina gives exactly that.
