Colter Shaw began Tracker Season 3 Episode 4 by questioning Gracie, the woman who hired him to track her boyfriend, Trey. Colter manages to steal a key from the reception and reach Trey's room at the lodge.

While the room is mostly empty, Colter finds a gift box for someone named Maggie and a lot of blood on the floor. The maid confirms that Maggie is Sheriff Holt's wife but Colter's investigation ends when the hotel manager discovers him and asks him to leave.

Tracker Season 3 Episode 4 recap: Colter in the wild

While Colter was on his way to meet Sheriff Holt in Tracker Season 3 Episode 4, he was taken by some men in a truck. Colter managed to move from the backseat and jump from the truck after some struggle but he found himself in a desert with no cell service. Tired and thirsty, Colter was about to give up hope when he found a horse and borrowed it to reach back to town, directly to Sheriff Holt's house.

Colter's meeting with Holt was more amicable than expected, as the sheriff believes that two of his dirty cops kidnapped the tracker. He even recognizes them as Cole and Wade and Holt reveals that both of them are working for Alonzo Diaz, a drug lord who also traffics women in Texas. With Randy's help again, Colter and Holt manage to nab Wade at Trey's clinic. While he maintains that he knows nothing about the vet, they see Trey leaving in a car in the clinic's security camera.

Colter discovers that the car is registered to Jimmy Ferris, a man whose mother was a casualty in a shootout orchestrated by Diaz. After Wade reveals that Trey was working for Diaz (as his horses' vet), Colter concludes that Jimmy has kidnapped Trey to get to Diaz and avenge his mother's death.
