Since Nat had been missing for a few days, Keaton is worried about him and Colter agrees to help him. The duo head to Nat's house and find the back sliding door ajar but no sign of life inside. Colter finds cat food and a newspaper clipping about the murder from the cold open inside the trash. Keaton reveals that he does not know that Nat was investigating a murder.Our rewardist asks for Randy's help and he confirms that Nat's phone was active two days ago, at Clive Sherman’s house, the man who was shot in the cold open. Clive was a dairy farmer but Colter is suspicious when he sees a new excavator, 100 yards from his barn. Colter believes that somebody was searching for something and it was brought in after Clive's murder.The case in Tracker Season 3 Episode 9 takes a harrowing turn when Colter digs in a compact area and finds a dead body. The duo managed to identify three bodies, who were all criminals with long rap sheets. When Randy discovers that Clive was making huge monthly deposits of $100,000, he realizes they are coming from Oak Park Holdings, owned by Zhan Menassian, an Armenian crime boss.Colter believes that Nat must have found the details of this dirty partnership between Clive and Zhan and was thus taken hostage. Randy helps the rewardist track Zhan's nephew and driver, Narek, who leads him to his uncle's house in Tracker Season 3 Episode 9. However, much to Colter's horror, Zhan is already dead on the floor. The rewardist manages to grab the house's security system before barely escaping from Zhan's bodyguards.Later, when Colter and Keaton watch the tapes from Zhan's house, they see Nat confronting the crime boss about something. However, our rewardist sees another reflection in the mirror, whom Keaton recognizes as contract killer Emile Lang.The Tracker Season 3 mid-season finale ends on a shocking cliffhangerLang gives a new direction to Tracker Season 3 Episode 9 and the duo finally discover Nat, thanks to the last location on Zhan's phone. However, Nat is in dire condition and dies on the spot after revealing that Lang killed Clive. While Keaton stays on the spot and calls the cops, our rewardist follows Lang, who hijacked a car and was headed somewhere.Thanks to Randy's help, Colter reaches Lang's location, a house by the lake. Lang has entered in the guise of a worker checking for a gas leak, but the homeowner is alerted to his presence by someone. Keaton also makes his way to the house, which belongs to Bradley Weitz, an accountant. The duo finds Bradley's maid gagged and tied to a chair. She reveals that Lang was asking about somebody named Cassie Lindstrom and took the owner to the garage.The final moments of Tracker Season 3 Episode 9 saw Colter discover Bradley's body in the garage, before he heard gunshots outside and discovered that Kaeton had been shot. He had no time to follow Lang as he immediately heads to the hospital with Keaton.
