By the end of the episode, it's revealed that a sinister group called "The Process" is behind forcing innocent people to commit crimes. The group is led by a man named Raymond Ackman, and after Colter was able to rescue the girl, he and Russell received a message that they had interrupted the process, and now there will be a price to pay.
