Justin Hartley’s Tracker has quickly found its place in the hearts of drama fans, thanks to its gripping storyline and unique lead character. The show centers on Hartley as Colter Shaw, a rugged man who lives in his RV and travels from place to place.

He is not your typical hero: Colter takes on cases to track down missing people or solve complicated mysteries, and he does it all on his own terms, always in exchange for a reward. He is incredibly skilled at tracking, which makes him valuable to both regular people and the police.

Since Colter took on this path in life, he calls himself a "rewardist" — one who earns money by solving cases. The TV series has completed two triumphant seasons and many fans might be curious to explore how much the tracker has earned so far.

So, what is Colter Shaw’s total income by the end of Season 2? Let’s break down the confirmed rewards, unspoken deals, and team expenses to get a clear picture of how lucrative his tracking career really is.

How much money has Tracker's protagonist Colter Shaw earned so far

By the end of Tracker Season 2, Colter Shaw earned at least $330,187 based on the confirmed reward amounts in 14 out of the season’s 20 episodes. Notably, in some episodes, no payment was involved.

For example, Colter helped out friends for free in episodes 9, 17, and 20, including wrapping up a case for Camille and assisting people from his past. In a few other episodes of Tracker Season 2, the exact reward wasn't mentioned, such as in the 15th, 16th, and 19th episodes.

In Episode 3, Colter was offered $50,000 but shared it with Billie Matalon, so he ended up with $25,000. Even though we have the numbers for most jobs, Colter likely made more money through quick or off-screen cases that weren’t shown on the show.

If we take into account both Tracker Season 1 and Season 2, Colter has earned more than $500,000 in total. This bigger number is partly because Season 2 had 20 episodes, compared to just 13 in Season 1, giving Colter more chances to take on paid jobs.

However, he doesn’t keep all the money for himself. Colter shares his earnings with his small team, including Velma, Bobby, and, later in Season 2, Bobby’s cousin Randy. Reenie, who often helps him out legally, usually doesn’t charge him since she already has a successful career.

Colter probably runs his work as a formal business, meaning he also pays taxes. Even though he travels a lot and eats out often, he keeps his living expenses low by staying in his trailer instead of paying rent. So while Colter makes a good amount, he is not super-rich, just comfortably earning from his reward-based work.

Interestingly, CBS has greenlit the series for a Season 3, which is expected to have 18 to 22 episodes. The more episodes, the better chance Colter has to earn more, and even surpass the total amount he made in the latest season.
