In the premiere episode of Tracker Season 3, Colter is reunited with his brother. After learning the truth about his father, Colter had to take time off and went MIA. However, Russell tracks him down, and the brothers get a chance to have a heartfelt conversation where Colter finally apologizes for ever thinking that he was the one who killed their father.

During an interview with TVLine, showrunner and EP Elwood Reid shares his thoughts about the conversation between the Shaw brothers in Tracker Season 3 premiere. He talks about how Colter and Russell learning the truth about their father's death also reveals how their mother has told different lies to them, and how it will further impact their family. He said:

"This season is about airing out that poison - the lies that infected the whole family, especially their relationship with Mary."

More on this in our story.

Tracker Season 3: Elwood Reid's thoughts on the Shaw brothers' conversation

In Episode 1 of Tracker Season 3, Colter reveals to his brother how his father's paranoia resulted in his death. He also apologizes to Russell for believing his mother and thinking he killed their father. Reid shared with TVLine that while they both lost their father, their understanding of the event and what was going on in the family before that is totally different.

Russell even shares with Colter that he hasn't seen the things that his elder brother has seen. Furthermore, they have now caught up to the lies of their mother as well. Reid reveals that the lies that Mary had told her children will surely change the dynamics within the family. He further added that while learning more truths about their own family, they will also have to ascertain whether they can believe their mother or not.

To add to his previous comment, he said:

"We'll eventually get a scene with Mom that gives more context, but right now, both brothers are still trying to figure out how much of her story they can actually believe."

He further talked about how Russell, who thought keeping Colter away from the truths about their family would keep him safe, but it has rather pained him more. While Russell moved on in his life, Colter is unable to do that, resulting in Russell trying to help his younger brother.

Reid also shared that in Tracker Season 3, viewers and Colter will learn about what changed Ashton and made him paranoid, which will unravel 'darker secrets' about their family. Furthermore, when Mary is finally confronted about the lies she told Colter, and also shared that it would be tough for the brothers to believe her this time. He stated:

"When we finally sit down with Mary, she'll be able to give context... but whether you trust her or not is another matter. I don't think either brother does - and neither should the audience."

Tracker Season 3 stars Justin Hartley. He is joined by Fiona Rene, Jensen Ackles, and Chris Lee, among others.
