Trainwreck Season 2 has been confirmed by Netflix. Season 1 premiered on June 10, 2025 and as per Rotten Tomatoes takes

“A look at the most gripping, bizarre - and sometimes even horrifying - events that once dominated the mainstream media.”

The first season proved to be hugely successful among both viewers and critics and based on viewership metrics, Netflix has decided to go forward with the second season with Raw Television, the studio behind projects like Don’t F**k with Cats.

One of the most interesting aspects of Trainwreck Season 1 was how the films were dropped with a gap of a few weeks between them. Talking about the strategy, Adam Del Deo, VP Doc Series and Films told Deadline,

“We commissioned it initially as a series, but we thought there would be different audiences, so at that point, we said, ‘Should we think about our traditional all-at-once release strategy just a bit differently in the way we did with Untold, which covered sports, but there was a lot of variety around the different types of sports stories that we were telling, so that’s how we landed on this idea.”

With Trainwreck Season 2, it now remains to be seen if the second installment also follows the same rule regarding its release.

Among the various films in the Trainwreck franchise, Poop Cruise proved to be immensely successful and made its place in the top 10 in 86 countries after the first week of its release. It amassed 21.1M views, which is clearly a massive number, leading to the streamer going forward confidently with Trainwreck Season 2.

The other films in the franchise also did quite well and the first week viewership numbers are mentioned below:

  • The Cult of American 7.8M views
  • The Real Project X 7.4M views
  • Balloon Boy 7M views
  • Storm Area 51 7M views
  • Mayor of Mayhem 6.4M views
  • The Astroworld Tragedy 6.2M
  • P.I. Moms 4.8M views

Poop Cruise, that followed the disaster that a luxury cruise trip carrying 4000 passengers from Galveston, Texas, to Cozumel, Mexico faced due to technical issues in the cruise’s engine room, led to massive conversations among the viewers.

Talking about the same, Adam Del Deo told Deadline that Poop Cruise

“captivated audiences around the world.”

Adam also added,

“There was a variety of topics and subjects, so it was bringing in diverse audiences into the documentary space. It sparked conversations on social media and in the press and the general word of mouth that it had [showed] it was a series that was loved by our members.”

While the incidents that Trainwreck Season 2 will be following has not been disclosed yet, viewers can be certain that they would be as chaotic and shocking as the ones that the first season followed. Chaos is one of the key elements of the events that the Trainwreck franchise depicts and the same quality is bound to be retained in the upcoming season as well.

Trainwreck can be streamed on Netflix.
