tvN's popular K-drama, True Beauty, premiered in December 2020 and remains one of the best K-dramas. Adapted from a webtoon by Yaongyi, the K-drama follows the story of Lim Ju-kyung, a high school student who changes schools after being bullied for her appearance in her previous school.
The K-drama stars popular actors such as Cha Eun-woo and Moon Ka-young, among various others, to tell the story of Ju-kyung, who goes from being the most bullied student in her previous school to the most popular student in her new school.

True Beauty cast and characters

tvN's True Beauty, now available to stream on Netflix in the US, narrates the compelling story of Ju-kyung, who suffers from extreme bullying in her school and decides to transfer to a new school, Saebom High School. Due to her struggle with her looks, she begins to wear makeup to her new school, and quickly becomes popular, until the popular boy from her class catches her without makeup.
The cast and characters of True Beauty are as follows:
1) Moon Ga-young as Lim Ju-kyung
Moon Ga-young's character Lim Ju-kyung is a high school student in the tvN K-drama. She is bullied in her school due to her looks, even driving her to commit s*icide, but is saved. After her family moves to a new place, she gets an opportunity to change her fate and begins practising makeup. This results in her becoming a popular student in her new school, until one of her classmates sees her without her makeup.
Ga-young has also been a part of numerous other popular K-dramas such as Law and the City, Welcome to Waikiki 2, My Dearest Nemesis, and Live Up to Your Name, among various others.
2) Hwang In-youp as Han Seo-jun
Hwang In-youp plays Han Seo-jun in True Beauty. Seo-jun, despite his masculine look, is introduced as a kind person who is devoted to taking care of his family. He is among the most popular kids in Ju-kyung's new school, who used to be an Idol trainee, but had to give up due to a tragic accident. He returns to school after several months and tries to befriend Ju-kyung out of curiosity.
In-youp is another popular actor in the K-drama and was also recently seen in the acclaimed drama, Dear X. He was also a part of K-dramas such as 18 Again and The Sound of Magic, among others.
3) Cha Eun-woo as Lee Su-ho
Another big name in the cast of the tvN K-drama is Cha Eun-woo, who plays the character of Lee Su-ho, a top student of Saebom High School. After a tragic incident a year ago, Su-ho changed. However, with him seeing Ju-kyung without makeup, she begins to spend time around him to make him keep it a secret, and the duo grows closer. Su-ho is also revealed to be the person who had stopped Ju-kyung from committing s*icide.
Popular for his charming looks, Cha Eun-woo was previously seen in Gangnam Beauty, Island, and Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung.
4) Park Yoo-na as Kang Su-jin
Park Yoo-na's character Kang Su-jin also goes to Saebon High School and is Su-ho's friend. While they are friends, their relationship is complicated as Su-jin's father pushes her to become a top student like Su-ho. She also becomes Ju-kyung's friend when she transfers to their school.
Yoo-na most recently appeared in Spirit Fingers and also appeared in K-dramas such as Hotel del Luna, Sky Castle, and Stranger, among others.
