We finally have our first look at Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr. in the Tulsa King Season 3 trailer, before he heads to New Orleans to take control of the city in the Tulsa King spin-off series NOLA King, which will begin production soon. The recently released trailer by Paramount+ also features the return of Sylvester Stallone as Dwight 'General' Manfredi, as he grows his empire even further and faces new enemies.

Paramount+'s crime drama series, which premiered in November 2022, is created by Taylor Sheridan, with Terence Winter and Dave Erickson serving as showrunners. Tulsa King Season 3 is scheduled to be released on September 21.

The series follows New York mafia capo Dwight's exile in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after he is released from a 25-year prison sentence. After he realizes that his old mob family might be out for his blood, he builds a new crew with unlikely and misfit locals in hopes of expanding his empire. However, the task at hand is certainly not easy, and Dwight faces many challenges from his old nemesis and rival mafia families.

Returning stars from previous seasons include Frank Grillo, Martin Starr, Jay Will, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Annabella Sciorr, and Vincent Piazza.

Breaking down the trailer for Tulsa King Season 3

The Tulsa King Season 3 trailer begins exactly where the Season 2 finale left off, with Dwight at the mercy of the FBI. The trailer shows Dwight being greeted by Special Agent Musso, who is played by Kevin Pollak (The Neighborhood). When Dwight asks him what he wants, Musso replies:

“I own you, General.”

This plot thread is one of the most exciting for Dwight, as it ties directly to the previous season. The sophomore season saw Dwight trying to legitimize his business and leave his old, illegal ways behind. While Bred2Buck and Even Higher Plane were always legal, he spared Cal Thrasher's life in the Season 2 finale and instead took legal control of his weed farm. However, in the final moments of the finale, Dwight is kidnapped by some unidentified organization, likely the FBI.

Tulsa King Season 3 trailer suggests that Dwight will be pulled back into the vicious cycle of crime and might be forced to work as an informant or do the dirty work for Musso.

Additionally, the trailer also hints that Dwight will step foot into a new distillery business venture, which will bring him face-to-face with the Dunmires. The Dunmire family is the big bad in Tulsa King Season 3, an old-money family that does not believe in playing by the rules.

The Season 3 trailer gave a glimpse of Jeremiah Dunmire, the tyrant of Tulsa, played by Robert Patrick (Peacemaker).

The Tulsa King Season 3 trailer ended with a sneak peek into Russell and Dwight's first meeting. According to NOLA King's logline, Russell will be an old friend of Dwight, who is sent to Tulsa by the Renzetti family to kill him. However, Russell will get inspired by his friend's powerful empire and return to New Orleans to lead the underworld scene there. Jackson's Russell will have a guest appearance in the upcoming season.

New actors joining Season 3 of Tulsa King include Bella Heathcoate as Cleo Montague, James Russo as Quiet Ray Renzetti, and Beau Knapp as Cole Dunmire.
