What is Twelve about?
The K-drama will be a blend of fantasy and action, with intriguing storytelling that will surely tug at your hearts. As per the trailer, the Korean series will focus on the twelve angels, who are up against a fight with an immensely powerful evil spirit, who wants to control the Korean Peninsula.
As per AsianWiki, the logline of the fantasy K-drama reads:
"A long time ago, 12 zodiac angels fought against evil spirits to protect the human race. Thanks to the sacrifice of the angels, the evil forces were sealed in the gate of Hell. Peace was also found. But, evil again awakens and the human world is thrown into chaos. Against a group of evil beings, including O-gwi (Park Hyung-sik), the 12 zodiac angels, led by Tae-san (Ma Dong-seok), who symbolizes the tiger, enter into an epic battle."
More about Twelve
As mentioned, popular Korean actors, Ma Dong-seok (Train to Busan) and Park Hyung-sik (Buried Hearts), will be joined by Seo In-guk (Reply 1997), Kang Mi-na, Sung Dong-il (Reply 1988), and Ko Kyu-pil, among several others.
For Park Hyung-sik, this will be his first villain role as he plays the evil spirit known as O-gwi in the eastern mythological-based K-drama. As per Soompi, Hyung-sik shared that he tried to make his crow-powered figure as mysterious as possible, just like a crow.
He said:
"Crows are very intelligent animals, but what interested me is that we cannot see what they are thinking on the inside. I approached the role with the idea of giving Ogui similar unclear, unknowable qualities."
He further added:
"I tried to weave the crow’s elegant, yet sharp, wing movements into the action."
Director of the K-drama, Han Yoon-seon, also shared his views on how he wanted to make Hyung-sik’s O-gwi a part of the other characters, and someone whom the viewers will also love. He stated:
"Although he stands against the 12 angels, I wanted to make him a character who interacts with them, grows alongside them, and can be loved by viewers. I was confident he could portray someone distinct from the 12 angels."
