Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 9 is heating up as the midseason trailer foretells some electrifying drama ahead. The second half the ninth season of the BET series will return on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 9 PM ET.

Towards the end of the first part of the series, we learn that Karen has left unannounced. Overcome with uncertainties about being a mother, Karen had taken the difficult decision. Her disappearance leaves everyone shocked. Episode 12 will take the story forward as the friends come together to find their loved one.

Sistas revolves around the lives of a group of black women, who are navigating through the challenges in their careers and relationships. Andi (played by KJ Smith), Karen (played by Ebony Obsidian), Danni (played by Mignon Von), Sabrina (played by Novi Brown) and Fatima (played by Crystal Renee Hayslett) explore the many ups and downs in their life in Atlanta. The ninth season of the BET series premiered on the network on July 16, 2025. The series is created by Tyler Perry, who serves as executive producer, director and writer.

The last episode of Season 9 before the midseason break titled ‘Surprise, Surprise’ aired on BET on September 24, 2025. The close-knit group of friends realize that Karen has disappeared. They are heartbroken to learn about their friend and decide to look for her. The new mother was going through many personal challenges, and the friends are left wondering if she decided to take the step voluntarily or if some external force was in play.

Meanwhile, Andi finds herself in a difficult professional conundrum. With the medical negligence and malpractice suit against Dr. Cruise in the backdrop and her developing relationship with Dr. Vaughn, Andi has been having one of the more intense seasons yet. Despite her acquaintance with the possible defendant, Andi stood by her belief of fighting medical discrimination. With Karen being missing, Andi decides to take on a more serious path to pursue the case.

Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 9 midseason premieres with episode 12 titled ‘Search Party’ on Wednesday, October 8, at 9 PM ET on BET. The teaser trailer brings forth the many challenges that await the women as more surprises come to light.

The IMdB synopsis of the episode states,

“When searching for loved ones in dangerous situations, priorities must be clear. The common thread remains protecting one another.”

Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 9 ensemble cast includes KJ Smith, Mignon, Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown, Crystal Renee Hayslett, Angela Beyincé, Devale Ellis and Brian Jordan Jr.. Darone Okolie, Walnette Marie Santiago and Sullivan Jones also joined the new season in recurring roles.
