What to expect in Watson Season 2?
Dr. John Watson is a brilliant doctor who is haunted by the death of his mentor, Sherlock Holmes, at Reichenbach Falls. He opens a new clinic in Pittsburgh. The series revolves around the rare and unique medical cases that he works on along with his talented team. Watson suffers from a traumatic brain injury. Meanwhile, Watson is on Professor James Moriarty’s trail.
In Season 1, we see James Moriarty resurface and influence the team into destroying doses to help twins Adam and Stephens. Watson, however, steps in, and Moriarty finally finds his end. The whole team is stunned by the turn of events. Watson’s actions, however, left the audience surprised, which may also pour into the decisions he takes in the upcoming season.
Watson Season 2 will see the physicians at the clinic taking on more disconcerting medical cases as they navigate through their personal life challenges. As per Deadline, Morris Chestnut said,
“Season 1 was a very challenging season, primarily because it was dealing with the effects of James Moriarty, who was the villain in the show. Watson was on (medication) and (Moriarty) was messing with his prescriptions. Now that’s behind him, he’s going to have a little bit more fun and be a little bit more loose. But overall… we’re going to focus really on the very unique medical cases.”
Watson Season 2 will premiere with the first episode titled ‘A Son in the Oven.' The episode will see Watson and his team of medical professionals take on a distinctive case where Mary’s mother has accidentally poisoned herself, leading to her dementia advancing rapidly. The episode will also see Sherlock Holmes returning in an unexpected twist.
The official synopsis for the episode states:
“Watson and the fellows spring back into action when Mary’s mother accidentally poisons herself while suffering from a rare form of dementia that is progressing with impossible speed. Sherlock Holmes resurfaces after being presumed dead.”
Watch Watson Season 2 on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10 pm ET on CBS. The series is also available to stream on Paramount Plus.
