The finale of Typhoon Family opens with a major turnaround: Tae-Poong discovers the long-lost promissory note that could clear his family’s financial mess. Everyone is overwhelmed in the moment and Seon-taek also realizes that the CEO treasured the wooden carving she gave him enough to hide something so crucial inside it.

This shows how much Mr. Kang trusted and respected his employees when he was alive. The entire team of Typhoon Trading is back to work. The members might stray, but they also promise never to abandon one another for good.

Once they regroup, the team digs through the files Mi-Seon secretly retrieved from Hyun-Jun’s office. Those documents reveal the real reason behind the sudden push to auction Typhoon Trading’s factory: Mark’s company wants the rights to the cooling-fan design created by Song-Jung’s father.

Their new multimedia device overheats easily, so they’re desperate for the patent and want it at the lowest cost possible. Tae-Poong and Mi-Seon immediately devise a clever workaround: if the patent is voluntarily released to the public, then it loses its market value.

Mark backs out of buying the factory because he no longer has any special rights to gain from it. After Tae-Poong speaks with Song-Jung’s father, he helps him see that giving up the patent won’t hurt the employees. Instead, it stops outsiders from using it to break the company apart.

They quickly finish the legal steps and get the patent release made public just a few hours before the auction, which forces Mark to withdraw. This move hits Hyun-Jun hard.

The deal he was depending on collapsed because he only had a basic understanding with Mark, not a firm contract. As a result, he loses the property he put up as security. Afterward, Tae-Poong faces Pyo and hands him the promissory note, telling him he can avoid consequences only if he tells the truth later.

Pyo admits he let the debt slide because he was focused on protecting the many workers under him. Tae-Poong then realizes the apology he always wanted shouldn’t be directed at him. It belongs to his father, who paid the price for Pyo’s choices.

The Typhoon Family finale continues and Nam-Mo finally pulls himself together after Mi-Ho calls him out. He goes back to pursuing music, enters a contest, regains some self-belief, and even confesses his feelings openly.

He admits he may never be rich, but he promises to devote his singing and his life to her. Their relationship hasn’t always been healthy, and Nam-Mo hasn’t always acted well, but the two of them make peace and decide to get married.

Mi-Ho’s grandmother agrees as long as Mi-Ho stays happy, hoping their relationship can withstand whatever the early 2000s might bring. Hyun-Jun, on the other hand, finally pays the price for the lies and shady choices he has made for so long. Pyo turns him in for misusing company money, leading to his arrest.

Even after everything Hyun-Jun did in Typhoon Family: hurting his father and causing major harm, he hears one last harsh truth from Pyo: all of his schemes came from wanting to win, when deep down he was just a son who never felt truly accepted.

This way, the finale of Typhhon Family compares Hyun-jun and Tae-poong. Both started with similar flaws, but Tae-Poong grew into someone dependable, while Hyun-Jun collapsed under his own ambition and fear.

Tae-Poong looks back on his old dream of growing flowers and realizes the real "flowers" in his life are the people who supported his father and now support him. Mi-Seon also reaches a turning point as she understands she doesn’t need a degree to prove her value.

Tae-Poong’s mother also settles comfortably into Mi-Seon’s household and even takes on a parent role for Beom at school. The Typhoon team makes it through the IMF crisis and later appears on TV to talk about how they stuck together. They also give back to others who were financially affected.

By 2001, the company had recovered so well that it became an example for other small businesses trying to survive. As seen at the end of Typhoon Family, the company is doing great, with each employee working like a real family member.
