Typhoon Family episode 5 recap: Tae-poong moves to Mi-seon's house and signs a deadly deal

Kang Tae-poong and Mi-seon's quest to rebuild Typhoon Trading continues in the latest episode of Typhoon Family on Netflix. The K-drama has been well-received by fans and viewers, and now the story is getting even more engaging.

The K-drama begins with Tae-poong among the Organe Tribe youngsters, while Mi-seon, a bookkeeper, spends her day working at the office and later studying for her bright future. However, their lives changed when the IMF crisis hit local businesses in Korea.

In a tragic moment, Tae-poong loses his father, and since he has no experience to lead the company, the other employees leave Typhoon Trading. Tae-poong later realizes his father's love for him and the company, and decides to rebuild it by taking Mi-seon on board and learning from him.

Now, the two are determined to bring in profit in the business and recover losses. While the quest continues, Tae-poong's struggles also follow him. This time, he and his mother ended up homeless and had to spend a night at the company.

Typhoon Family episode 5 recap: Tae-poong and his mother have lost their home

Episode 5 of Typhoon Family is titled "Heaven, Where We Are," and it starts on a lighthearted note. Mi-seon arrives at the office and finds Tae-poong lying on the floor. She gets startled when Tae-poong's mother removes her blanket and screams after seeing her.

Mi-seon asks what happened to the family's house, and learns that it has been taken to recover the loss. This means that Tae-poong and his mother now have nowhere to go. Mi-seon feels bad and offers for them to stay at her house.

Since Tae-poong and his mother had no option, they agreed to follow Mi-seon. After arriving at her house, Tae-poong realizes the difference in his and Mi-seon's lives. They struggle to sleep at night, but will gradually learn to adjust.

Tae-poong gets scammed in Typhoon Family episode 5

The Typhoon Family episode continues, and Tae-poong and Mi-seon leave for work. Mi-seon teaches him business etiquette, and the two talk about possible company projects. This way, their chemistry starts to show, and even Tae-poong feels happy to be around Mi-seon and learn from her.

As for his mother, Jeong-mi also learns to live with the family and realizes that they have been living her poverty. She cooks for them and ensures not to make them feel burdened. And just when it looks like everything will be fine, a new problem emerges at the office.

Tae-poong finds out that he’s been completely scammed. The warehouse where he thought his goods were safely stored was empty. The man he trusted had secretly used Tae-poong’s stuff as collateral and sold it all off for his own gain.

This makes Tae-poong feel completely lost. He doesn't have a house, no project from Typhoon Trading, and is now scammed. The realization hits him hard. Tae-poong then breaks down in front of his mother and finds comfort in her.

His mother lifts him up and encourages Tae-poong to move on. Later, Mi-seon gives her the money that the late CEO has left for her to use for buying the goods back and reselling them. Tae-poong refuses to take the money, but Mi-seon forces it on him.

By the end of Typhoon Family episode 5, Tae-poong finds Mr. Park injured by the loan sharks. He then agrees to give them 100 million won in return for Park and the assurance that they will leave him and stay out of Tae-poong's business.

The loan sharks put Tae-poong's eyes as collateral, making it a deadly deal. When the loan shark asks who Tae-poong is, he just says, "I'm just a trader from Typhoon Trading". Now is goal is to earn 100 million won and give the money to the loan sharks.
