Lee Jun-ho's much-anticipated K-drama, Typhoon Family is just a few hours away, scheduled to come out on tvN and Netflix. This means that fans outside Korea will also be able to enjoy this fresh story set during the 1990s.

This also marks Lee's next K-drama after King the Land, in which he starred with fan-favorite Yoona. The actor will be seen playing a wealthy young man named Kang Tae-poong alongside Kim Min-ha's Oh Mi-seon.

What makes this show unique is that, unlike typical K-dramas, this one focuses on the time during the 1997 IMF financial crisis. Several companies and workers had to face difficulties in survival as the country's economy was falling.

So, Typhoon Family will also take a close look at that time in the 1990s, as Tae-poong will be forced to face a similar situation. The K-drama has 16 episodes and will follow the release schedule of two episodes every week.

The upcoming South Korean coming-of-age drama, Typhoon Family, is set to take viewers back in time, specifically during 1997. As explained earlier, the story is all about a wealthy young man facing the harsh realities of life, while Mi-seon, who happens to be of the same age, has been working hard enough to manage her family.

Unlike Tae-poong, Mi-seon is a normal citizen with a job. Being the eldest daughter, she has several responsibilities, and when the country faces a crisis, Mi-seong deals with more challenges. The K-drama isn't just about financial struggle but also about how people transform and remain emotionally strong.
