Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton, Kelly Reilly, is returning to the screens in a whole new avatar in Under Salt Marsh. The actress will play a detective in the Sky Television crime drama, which is slated to premiere in 2026.
The thriller series is set to revolve around Jackie Ellis, played by Reilly. Jackie is a former detective turned teacher whose career was ruined after her niece went missing. When a storm is about to hit the shore, a young boy’s body is found, and Jackie realizes the death is somehow connected to her niece’s disappearance.

What is Under Salt Marsh about?
The series is set in a coastal Welsh town where a storm is starting to form in the sea. Meanwhile, Jackie Ellis finds the body of one of her young students washed ashore. She is already dealing with the guilt of the disappearance of her niece, which happened three years ago.
Jackie then teams up with her former partner, Detective Eric Bull, and investigates what happened to the boy as well as her niece. However, the duo only has a limited time as the storm is headed to the coast soon, which could destroy all evidence. The official logline of the series reads:

Is there a release date for Under Salt Marsh?
The series will debut on Sky in 2026; however, the exact release date remains to be announced. The show will feature six episodes. Sky recently confirmed the release year of the drama with its first-look pictures.
The first image shows Jackie drenched in rain as she investigates the case. The second photo gives a glimpse of Detective Eric Bull visiting a crime scene, and the third photo shows Eric and Jackie interacting with each other.

The series stars Kelly Reilly as Jackie Ellis, marking her first major television role since the conclusion of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone. She is not new to British detective dramas, as she previously played DI/DC Anna Travis in ITV’s Above Suspicion.
