Untamed Episode 5, titled Terces, aired on July 17, 2025, and picked up right after the cave raid. The episode opened with Kyle nearly getting killed when a bomb exploded during the rangers’ bust. Multiple officers died, but the drug ringleader was arrested. Kyle and Naya found more bodies in the cave and Lucy’s missing bag.
Back at home, Naya’s ex broke into her apartment and tried to kidnap Gael. Jill stepped in and protected him. Jill later attempted suicide, and Kyle responded by confronting Shane at a bar. Shane shot Kyle in the woods after Kyle found evidence linking him to Lucy.
In Untamed Episode 5, Kyle survives a cave explosion during the raid on the drug operation, but refuses to go to the hospital.
The raid begins with the rangers storming the underground network where the gold X pills were being produced. A bomb detonates inside the tunnel, killing a few officers and seriously injuring Kyle.
Instead of checking into a hospital, Kyle returns home and asks Jill to stitch him up. While tending to his wounds, Jill tells Kyle that he’s pushing himself too far. Kyle ignores the concern and insists on returning to work.
He’s bothered by the fact that none of the arrested suspects are admitting to killing Lucy. Kyle and Naya question each of them again at the station, but no one confesses. Some of them claim they’ve never even seen Lucy. Kyle asks for ballistics to be run on the weapons recovered from the raid. He wants to know if any match the shot that killed Lucy.
Lawrence holds a press briefing, congratulates the team, and downplays the unresolved pieces of the case. Kyle remains focused on Lucy and pushes Souter to let him investigate further. He believes they’re missing something and says Lucy’s death still doesn’t add up, despite the arrests.
Untamed Episode 5: Jill saves Gael from Naya’s violent ex during home invasion
In Untamed Episode 5, Jill saves Gael from being kidnapped by Michael during a late-night break-in at Naya’s apartment.
Michael, Naya’s abusive ex, breaks into her place demanding she leave with him to L.A. and lie to clear his name in an ongoing investigation. Naya refuses. She quietly sneaks out of the apartment with Gael and drives to Kyle’s cabin for safety.
The next morning, Kyle goes to work and leaves Jill in charge of babysitting Gael. Michael finds their location and attacks Jill while trying to take the boy. Jill fights back and stalls long enough for Naya and Kyle to return.
Kyle arrests Michael on the spot. Later, Jill opens up to Kyle and admits she felt something dark rise inside her when Naya took Gael from her arms. She says Caleb’s death might have changed her, and she’s unsure how to deal with the emptiness.
Kyle doesn’t respond, but before she leaves, he tells her she’s still a good mother. Not long after, Jill attempts suicide. Scott finds her and calls Kyle. Kyle visits her at the hospital where she apologizes. Scott asks Kyle to support her recovery. Kyle listens quietly, then leaves.
Untamed Episode 5: Shane shoots Kyle after he's caught with evidence
Shane shoots Kyle in the woods after Kyle finds a stash of drugs and Lucy’s video implicating him.
In Untamed Episode 5, Kyle charges Lucy’s recovered phone and finds several personal videos she recorded. One of them includes Shane, whose voice and body language suggest a close relationship with her. Kyle keeps the phone and calls Naya, telling her to pick it up if he doesn’t return.
He warns her that he’s confronting Shane and might not come back. Before going, he also calls Jill and says he’s sorry for everything. Kyle tracks Shane to his usual tent site in the woods and finds a bag full of gold X pills. Just as he’s about to call it in, Shane appears and shoots him in the stomach. Kyle collapses. In a hallucination, he sees Caleb warning him that Shane is coming.
Untamed Episode 5 ends with Kyle lying wounded, bleeding out in the forest, and Shane nowhere to be seen. There’s no confirmation yet on whether Kyle survives. The bag of drugs and Lucy’s phone are still in his truck, which only Naya knows about. Shane’s motive remains unclear, but his connection to both Lucy and Sean seems to be deeper than he claimed.
Untamed Episode 5: Kyle gets suspended after confrontation with Shane
In Untamed Episode 5, Kyle is officially suspended from his ranger duties after the confrontation with Shane spirals out of control.
Following the cave raid and ongoing tension at the station, Kyle gets into a physical altercation with Shane at a bar. He accuses Shane of knowing more about Sean’s disappearance and supplying drugs to Jill. Kyle pulls a gun on Shane during the fight, prompting Souter to intervene. The next morning, Kyle wakes up hungover and is informed by Lawrence that he’s been suspended.
In Untamed Episode 5, Lawrence tells him to hand over all open case files to Agent Dixon. Kyle complies but withholds Lucy’s bag. Souter warns him that he’s burned too many bridges and reminds him he can’t keep working cases unofficially. Kyle returns home and meets with the park’s Chief, who encourages him to let go of the past. Agent Dixon shows up and takes custody of most documents.
Once Dixon leaves, Kyle checks Lucy’s phone and finds the video that links Shane to her. This leads directly to Kyle heading into the woods, where he gets shot. Kyle’s suspension removes any official backing he has, leaving him alone and vulnerable in a case that’s turning more personal by the day.
