Vision Quest is officially on the table in Marvel's future, with Paul Bettany set to reprise the role of the android, Vision, who has been reincarnated twice throughout the MCU timeline.

The project will be a miniseries, created by Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard), based on Roy Thomas and John Buscema's Marvel Comics character, Vision. It will include eight episodes and is scheduled to debut sometime in 2026 as part of the MCU's Phase Six. Before diving into the confirmed details about the project, let's look at a rumored update.

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, Marvel Updates shared an update from social media personality DanielRPK, who reportedly said that Madripoor will be a part of Vision Quest. It's a fictional Southeast Asian city, previously mentioned in Marvel shows like Moon Knight and Ironheart, besides The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The location is considered a crime hub, starkly divided into two parts. Sources suggest that Sharon Carter, a character who previously appeared in Captain America movies, is also connected to it as the Power Broker. However, exact details about the inclusion of this location and its relevance to the plot have not been officially confirmed yet.

Here's what we know about Vision Quest so far

In a February 2025 report, Deadline revealed Ruaridh Mollica has been cast to play Tucker, alongside Paul Bettany as Vision (presumably White Vision). James Spader and Faran Tahir will also reprise their roles as Ultron and Raza, respectively.

In June, the Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire was cast as E.D.I.T.H. Besides them, T’Nia Miller and Todd Stashwick have been cast as Jocasta and Paladin. Eventually, Orla Brady was reportedly cast as F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Paul Bettany, who is confirmed to return to the MCU in Vision Quest, previously spoke with Deadline about the potential of his return after WandaVision. In 2021, he said,

“It was a beautiful culmination for all these things Lizzie and I have done together. We really found a lane for ourselves, and this was different in tone from those movies. But you never know with Marvel, whether you’re done, or not. So I don’t want to call it the end yet."

While leaving the door open for a return in a future Marvel project, the actor also spoke about the rewarding experience of working on WandaVision, which earned 23 Emmy nominations:

"This was one of the most creative experiences of my life, joyful and free, making this show. To see it embraced by an audience the way it was, was so wonderful.”

Later, in October 2024, he also spoke about the spin-off series, Agatha All Along, which is connected to Vision Quest in some shape or form. He told The Hollywood Reporter,

“I love it. I love it and I’m so proud of [showrunner] Jac Schaeffer, and I am going to watch again because there’s so much for me to learn moving forward into my contribution."

Although exact plot details have not been revealed, Vision Quest is expected to follow Vision after the final moments of WandaVision. The show is expected to be released in 2026 on Disney+.
